...History The Kendall Group is a keyless entry fob company who has partnered with global companies to manufacture all of the components necessary to create the keyless fob. The Pakistan, China, and Taiwan suppliers have been maintaining volume and product deadlines, while the Vietnam company who is responsible for the control chip, has had an on time delivery rate of 82%. The keyless entry fobs cannot began the final stages of production until all components have been received by the Kendall Group. Due to the amount of units ordered from each supplier, Kendall Group has been able to meet client demands. However, the Vietnam suppliers threaten to cause a bottleneck should demand increase, as the control chips’ untimely receipt would temporarily halt operations. Systems Controls The Kendall Group applied the efficiency metric to initially determine if the global suppliers had the resources to manufacture and ship the parts in the allotted time. The Vietnam business partner has proven that the efficiency metric failed to consider other factors that could create delays in shipping the control chips. The Kendall Group plans to meet with the Vietnam supplier to understand the factors that contribute to the delay in shipping the product. The company is considering transferring two operations managers to improve the Vietnam suppliers on time shipping statistics. Morocco & Algeria

...the north. Algeria is the second powerful country in Africa after South Africa while Morocco is the fifth one after the Egypt and Nigeria. In addition to Arabs, Sahraouis and Berbers represent the two main populations in the two countries. Moreover, both of them have Arabic as official language and French as second and administrative one since their independences from France colonization. Another similarity between Algeria and Morocco is their identical climates that differ as we move along both countries, extreme temperatures in the south, and moderate weather in the north. Despite these numerous similarities, Morocco and Algeria differ in three major domains: Their area, their resources, and their political systems and actions over the history of country. The first big dissimilarity between Algeria and Morocco is their areas. In fact, Algeria counts four times the area of Morocco. Algeria extends in more than two millions kilometers square and it is the second big country in Africa after the Sudan and the eleventh worldwide whereas Morocco has only seventh hundred thousand kilometers square whereof two-hundred fifty in Western Sahara which makes Morocco in the eight rank of superficies in Africa and the fifth-seventh in the world. Morocco claims a big part of Algeria that extends from Figuig (belong to Morocco) until Tindouf passing by Abadla and Ben Abbas just after the independence of Algeria in 1962 from France conquest. In effect, during this period, France took parts from...

...Raygene Choi HIST125 13 October 2013 Essay 1 Topic 3 My first candidate to be nominated as one of the three greatest scientists in history would be Nicklaus Kopernig. Copernicus, as he would be remembered by, ranks among the greatest of scientists for his work in astronomy. His theories that the earth was not the center of the universe was an immense blow to the theological belief that the earth was not the "focus of God's purpose" (Burke p.135). His work attacked a long held theological "fact" and undermined the religious stranglehold that the church had over the masses. Although he was hired by the church to solve their calendar issues, Copernicus's discovery led to a paradigm shift on how the universe operated. This understanding of how the universe operated led to a slow decline of church authority, especially in the hindrance of science. His theories would also provide the ground work for future scientists such as Galileo; Galileo's work "explained the problem Copernicus had not been able to crack: why falling objects fall to the ground to the west of their starting-point on a turning earth" (Burke p.145). Without Copernicus's groundbreaking theory, Galileo would not have had the foundation to complete his research. In fact, I would dare say that Copernicus work in astronomy is the foundation for anything in the realm of physics. My second candidate would have to be Isaac Newton. Newton's theory of universal gravity "destroyed the medieval picture of the world as...

Ceremony Paper

...In Ceremony, Tayo embodies the combination of both Native American and white cultures. Taking on two cultures makes Tayo bear the effect of a whole society’s confusion at the ways in which the world is changing. Tayo encounters difficulty in identifying his identity, especially since he never knew his father and he was abandoned by his mother at the age of four. He is raised by his aunt who constantly reminds him of his difference. Tayo is educated by a predominately ran white school. However, unlike his friends, he often finds the white ways of life damaged and continues to respect and believe in the Native American traditions that he learns from his family. However, even though Tayo views the white ways of life faulty, he learns that he has to embrace the American culture in order to reflect back to his Native American culture. This explanation is what Tayo learns about being an American. Furthermore, World War II interrupts Tayo's life drastically as it does to most Americans of his generation. The majority of the Native American men who return from World War II turn to alcohol to drown their trauma, which is full of confused anger. More specifically, Tayo along with his cousin Rocky were in World War II. Rocky was killed in war and Tayo became emotionally disturbed. Tayo was more violent when he came back from war. He was disoriented and changed by the foreign culture of war. His aunt who watches over him is still in shock and continues to change the sheets for her two...

The Great Awakening

...members of a church (American Promise, p.134). When more religious people realized how few they were, they started to preach people to reconvert them to a more religious lifestyle. This was called the Great Awakening. Ministers were using different ways to lead the revival. The fact that ministers had to make the population go to Church shows an expanding social trend of the population refusing to attend church probably to express their recent ability to be free of choosing and make their own decision concerning religious views. But after many well-known ministers such as Jonathan Edwards or George Whitefield successfully preached around America, thousands of colonists got their spiritual energy awakened and refreshed (American Promise, p.135). This demonstrated the power of preachers to influence the colonists by showing them that every soul matters and that a religious one matters even more. In an economical point of view, the Great Awakening revealed the way the expanding...

...Hamza Ufitabe Gafurama 14002299 Information Systems Independent Learning and Role of the University Library in Conducting Research Assignment 1. How to Narrow Information When a topic is too broad that is not manageable you will find that there is too much information and therefore the focus would have to be narrowed. To help narrow focus a few simple questions can help achieve this • what you know or don’t know about the topic? • what time period you covering • what place or geographic area you will be covering • trying to focus your topic in terms of specific type or class, people, places or things e.g study of traffic patterns • choose one lens through which to view the research problem, e.g rather than studying the role of government in Eastern religions, study the role of government in Hinduism You can apply one or two of strategies above to determine if that gives you a manageable research problem to investigate. Combining multiple strategies risks creating the opposite problem, your topic may become too narrowly defined and you can't locate enough research or data to support your study. 2. In this definition, goods are tangible items. Goods can be finished items that are sold to end consumers such as a chair, a car, a computer, or a house. Goods can also be the raw materials, parts, and subassemblies that comprise the finished goods described above. These raw materials are sold as well, but not to end consumers. They are sold to the producers of the finished products. Services, for the most part, are not tangible, but are activities that provide some combination of time, location, form, or psychological value (Stevenson, 2012, p. 4). Services such as the ability to place a cell phone call, electricity in a home, advice from a financial planner, traveling on an airline, receiving medical treatment, or staying in a hotel are all considered services directed at an end consumer. One definition for the word management is “the person or persons controlling...

...HAEMATOLOGY Answers to case study questions Chapter 5 Case Study 5.1 We find a 50-year-old woman with long-term Crohn’s disease, on various treatments and with an abdominal surgical history. Her blood tests were requested following a routine GP visit, when she complained of some lethargy, fever and diarrhoea. (p. 125) 1 The results outside the reference range are haemoglobin, MCV and ESR. This result, along with the history, is sufficient to confer the diagnosis of anaemia. With the MCV below the bottom of the reference range, we can extend the diagnosis to microcytic anaemia. The abnormal ESR adds little to the diagnosis as it is the likely consequence of the anaemia. 2 Having given the patient a diagnosis, a treatment must be initiated. However, this is not yet possible as the basis of the microcytic anaemia must be defined. As the two major causes of microcytic anaemia are iron deficiency and haemoglobinopathy, the blood is tested for iron. A level below the bottom of reference range extends the diagnosis to iron-deficient microcytic anaemia. The reason for the vitamin B12 request is unclear, but as the result is within the reference range, then malnutrition as a cause seems unlikely. The diagnosis is not entirely unexpected given the history— Crohn’s disease being an inflammatory disorder of the intestines known to lead to malabsorption. Indeed, the inflammation may well contribute to the abnormal ESR. The referral to surgery may well have been to remove a section of diseased...
