There are three main doctrines of the Protestant Reformation and the first is “Sole Authority of scripture”. It was one of the crucial watch words of the Reformation. It is believed that the Holy Bible or the Holy scriptures is the ultimate authority for the Christ like in regards to practice, faith and conduct. It is said form their point of view that the Bible teaches us everything we need to know about living holy and information for receiving salvation.
The second is “Justification by Faith Alone” , which they believed its not by our good works that we done but being justified before and saved by faith alone. One of the scriptures to back this up was found in Ephesians 2:8,9 “ for by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast”.
The third is “priesthood of the believer”. That was the third principle of the reformation which interprets as Christ being our high priest. They also believed that Christ is our mediator between man and God.

Las Casas came to the Indies early; he knew Columbus and was the editor of the Admiral's journal. He knew conditions in the Americas first hand. As the reading in our packet indicates, he was present during Spanish genocidal attacks on the native population of Cuba.
After coming to the realization that the Spanish treatment of the native population was unconscionable, Las Casas became a Dominican priest, and began travelling back and forth across the Atlantic. He was in part responsible for the repeal of the laws which allowed the Indians to be used in what amounted to slave labor gangs Government officials were willing to go along with this attempt to end the system for they feared that a new class of feudal lords would arise in the colonies. The Spanish colonists were outraged at this interference. Las Casas attempted to set up a colony on the coast of Venezuela where the native people would be treated properly. It failed largely because of the bad example set by the colony's neighbors.
The Columbian Exchange also known as the Grand Exchange was a dramatically widespread exchange of animals, plants, culture, human populations (including slaves) and ideas between the Western and Eastern Hemispheres. People of Europe and Africa settled in the New World, and animals, plants and diseases of Eurasia and the Western Hemisphere were introduced to each area in an interchange. This exchange of plants and animals transformed European, American, African, and Asian ways of life. New foods became staples of human diets, and new growing regions opened up for crops. One of the first eropean export was the horse which changed the lives of many Native Americans tribes allowing them to shift to nomadic lifestyle, which they use would hunt bisons on horseback. Tomato sauce made from new world order tomatoes became a Italian trademark. Also along with all of these changes different diseases started to plague the people, the small pox epidemics are believed to have resulted in the largest death tolls among native Americans.

The Puritans and the Pilgrims emerged as two different spiritual groups. The Pilgrims were often in disagreement with the religious practices and beliefs of the Puritans. The dividing of the followers of Christianity into Puritans and Pilgrims happened following the Reformation that emerged in England in the 1600s. Puritans completely opposed the way in which the English churches functioned and they struggled to make changes to it. Puritans believed that people should start following purer forms to worship God. Pilgrims totally opposed the racial refinement and genocide. The people with more power exploited the weaker class economically. The pilgrims completely opposed this economic exploitation, and they tried their best to stop this unfair event/behavior
Puritan theology was similar to Calvinism. It talked of the sinful nature of humans. The Puritans believed that by an everlasting verdict, God has resolved to save some people through the righteousness of Christ. They believed in the concept of eternal destiny. They gave a lot of importance to conversion, and to change humans from being sinful to be holy.

The colonists seemed to think of Natives as heathens because their religious training led them to believe a person without their religion was better off dead. Fortunately for many natives the colonists had to abide by English laws.
This did not make them friends. To circumvent the law, colonists would often start a war with certain tribes. The Native Americans had no idea of European war and even less chance of winning against the colonists. Their only alternative was to sue for a peace treaty. In order to stop the killing tribes would buy peace with land. In a relatively short period of about 200 years the British colonists had all thirteen colonies as legal assets of the Crown.
The Cherokee tribe had an area of the Blue Ridge Mountains that they considered holy. In order to keep the land many of the tribe began living as white men. clothing, houses, churches, wagons and farms. They even bought and sold slaves and became citizens of the state of North Carolina. Aside from a few other tribes considered civilized, there was only a tense time in between wars when Colonists did not kill Native Americans on sight and vice versa. They never adapted.

Talent Planning

...------------------------------------------------- What is the process of selecting candidates? Selecting candidates involves two main processes: shortlisting, and assessing applicants to decide who should be made a job offer. It is a crucial stage in the overall recruitment process. This factsheet focuses on interviewing, psychometric testing and assessment centres. * For more on recruitment generally, see our factsheet Candidates’ applications may arrive as a curriculum vitae (CV) or an application form. Whatever form they are in, it’s important to make sure that everyone involved in the selection process, from the shortlisting stage onwards, understands not just the need to avoid unfair discrimination and the potential risk to the organisation’s reputation should a candidate make a tribunal claim, but the benefits a diverse workforce can bring to an organisation. Technology plays an increasingly important role in recruitment ranging from attracting candidates through to the selection process. Online recruitment can mean employers receive large numbers of applications from unsuitable candidates, but there are tools and techniques that can help slim down the number of potential candidates. A range of different methods can be used to assess candidates. Some are more reliable than others in terms of predicting performance in the job, and some are easier and cheaper to administer than others. Whatever method is used, recruiters should tell candidates in advance what to...

...reflection, I see a narrow face, wide, round eyes, and a long, thin nose—I still look like a little girl, though sometime in the last few months I turned sixteen. The other factions celebrate birthdays, but we don’t. It would be self-indulgent. “There,” she says when she pins the knot in place. Her eyes catch mine in the mirror. It is too late to look away, but instead of scolding me, she smiles at our reflection. I frown a little. Why doesn’t she reprimand me for staring at myself? “So today is the day,” she says. “Yes,” I reply. “Are you nervous?” I stare into my own eyes for a moment. Today is the day of the aptitude test that will show me which of the five factions I belong in. And tomorrow, at the Choosing Ceremony, I will decide on a f action; I will decide the rest of my life; I will decide to stay with my family or abandon them. “No,” I say. “The tests don’t have to change our choices.” “Right.” She smis. “Let’s go eat breakfast.” “Thank you. For cutting my hair.” She kisses my cheek and slides the panel over the mirror. I think my mother could be beautiful, in a different world. Her body is thin beneath the gray robe. She has...

...Assessment Analysis Paper Gentina Thompson NUR440: Health Assessment and Promotion for Vulnerable Population September 22, 2014 Assessment tools are a necessary part of everyday nursing care. They provide the nurse with measurable means of keeping inventory of a patient’s physical progression from shift to shift. Assessment tools like the Braden scale which assess the patient’s skin quality; along with the falls risk scale that assess how high the patient’s chances are for falling; are two common assessment tools used worldwide. Along with these physical assessment tools are an array of non-physical assessment tools used to evaluate anything from the patient’s coping skills to evaluating their stress level. Three popular ones are the daily hassle scale, Beck depression inventory, and the perceived stress scale. All three of these scales are imperative in finding out what kind of state the patient is in cognitively. Daily hassles are defined as “irritating, frustrating demands that occur during everyday interactions with the environment (Wright et al., 2010). Daily hassles are normally those daily interactions with family or friends that have regular occurrences; however are more difficult when trying to determine a beginning and an end. The Kanner Hassel scale is the most commonly used it generates eight scores on eight dimensions of time, pressure, work, financial responsibilities, health, neighborhood/environment, inner concerns, household responsibilities, and future security...

Interview Questions

...INTERVIEW QUESTIONS & TECHNIQUES Collected by MBA Dept General Advice Before you go for your interview you need to find out everything you can about the company. Reread your application/CV/covering letter, so that you can think about your skills and qualifications, and also questions that you might be asked. In order to do well in the interview you need to be able to convince the interviewer that you have the right skills for the job, this will include your motivation towards the job, how well you will fit into the company, along with meeting their academic and skills requirements. You should dress smartly and appropriately and should leave in plenty of time allowing for possible delays, so that you are not late. Remember first impressions last! Tips It's a good idea to ask for a glass of water, as you will be doing a lot of talking, but it’s also good to take a sip if you want a few seconds to think about the question asked. • Ensure that you are sitting comfortably in a position where you can address all the interviewers. • Make sure that you remember the names of the interviewers, and take note of their various roles. First Impressions Most people make an initial opinion of a stranger within the first five minutes of meeting them. According to research employers' impressions are made up of the following: Body Language and image (70%) Tone of voice (20%) What you say (10%) As soon as you enter the building you need to be polite to everyone...

...as one of the recent “innovative” approaches to assessments most pursued by states. CBT is lauded as the answer to having cheaper and speedier test delivery for state and district-wide assessments. It is also seen by some as an avenue toward greater accessibility for students with disabilities. In this report we explore the context of CBT, current state computer-based tests, and considerations for students with disabilities, in part as follow-up to a similar exploration that occurred in the early 2000s when just a few states were beginning to develop and implement CBT for their state assessments. Nine considerations for states and districts are presented: • Consider the assumptions and beliefs of various stakeholders about computer-based instruction and assessments. • Consider the system as a whole, from the computer infrastructure to classroom and instructional experiences with computers before deciding whether and how to use CBT. • Consider the computer or online platform first, with input from individuals who know students with disabilities and their accessibility needs. • Consider a process for bringing in the needed expertise to delineate the specific accessibility features of CBT, and to determine what specific accommodations may still be needed by students with disabilities, as well as to determine whether a computer-based test may create new accessibility issues. • Determine the policies for which accessibility features will be available to all students and which are...

...acquired abilities (skills) or attitude. The innate nature of aptitude is in contrast to achievement, which represents knowledge or ability that is gained.[1] Contents [hide] 1 Intelligence 2 Combined aptitude and knowledge tests 3 See also 4 References Intelligence[edit] Aptitude and intelligence quotient are related, and in some ways opposite views of human mental ability. Whereas intelligence quotient sees intelligence as being a single measurable characteristic affecting all mental ability, aptitude refers to one of many different characteristics which can be independent of each other, such as aptitude for military flight, air traffic control, or computer programming.[2] This is more similar to the theory of multiple intelligences. Concerning a single measurable characteristic affecting all mental ability, analysis of any group of intelligence test scores will nearly always show them to be highly correlated. The U.S. Department of Labor's General Learning Ability, for instance, is determined by combining Verbal, Numerical and Spatial aptitude subtests. In a given person some are low and others high. In the context of an aptitude test the "high" and "low" scores are usually not far apart, because all ability test scores tend to be correlated. Aptitude is better applied intra-individually to determine what tasks a given individual is more skilled at performing. Inter-individual aptitude differences are typically not very significant due to IQ differences...
