...Jack Sisson 11/18/12 Kramer vs. Kramer A film can be interpreted in many ways, and the best interpretations are the ones that talk about what’s underneath each image. That means that the best ways to explain films are to describe what the deeper meaning is of each detail, from the first opening credit to the final end credit. The deeper meanings are combined in order to form themes. There is usually at least one Christian theme in there. The main Christian theme in the film Kramer vs. Kramer is love. Kramer vs. Kramer is a passionate film about a wife who leaves her husband because of how upset she is with their marriage. Fifteen months after the divorce, a legal battle begins to determine who gets to keep their 7-year-old son Billy, which turns into a battle of who believes he loves him more and who should get custody of him. The movie was released in 1979, and was written and directed by Robert Benton. Love is a central theme throughout the movie because of the love that Joanna Kramer, Billy’s mother, and Ted Kramer, Billy’s father, show for each other and for Billy. How much someone cares for another person can sometimes lead him to act without thinking and without the input of that person whom he cares for. This is the case when Joanna leaves Ted in the film Kramer vs. Kramer. Margaret, a friend of both of them, consoles Joanna when she talks about how fed up she is with her husband and that she wants to leave him because she feels so much pain. Joanna shows how much...

...Stranger Than Fiction: Paper II “Anything worth writing comes inexplicably and without method”? How is this idea evident in the film, particularly as Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman’s characters portray the art of writing/narrative in the film? No one can force something good to happen, nor can they control their fate; it is something manifested from random courses of events. Fate is something inexplicable and is created without a method, therefore, Harold Crick is the perfect example of Eiffel’s quote. His entire life is a metaphor of things that happen that cannot be explained. This is ironic because Harold’s life is a book, written and narrated by Karen Eiffel. “Death and Taxes”, also Harold’s life, was expected to be Eiffel’s most amazing book yet. Harold’s fate and Eiffel’s novel is one and the same thing, therefore her quote relates to Harold’s life and the events that surround it. Taoism is an important ancient religion practiced in China, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam by about five million people. There’s a principle in Taoism that’s called “Wu Wei”, and translated means: “non-doing” or “non-action”. “Wu Wei 無爲 (Chinese, literally “non-doing”) is an important concept of Taoism and means natural action, or in other words, action that does not involve struggle or excessive effort. Wu wei is the cultivation of a mental state in which our actions are quite effortlessly in alignment with the flow of life. This going with the flow, although it...

...Problem & Exercise Chapter 8 3. A report is meant for reading and information, so if a report is not properly put together then these things can happen: * listed with no page numbers then they can be shuffled and get out of order * putting the headings of the columns on every page (if not it is information overload & you will lose you place) * having incorrect information/data * missing one of the who, what, when, or where (software error) * data errors The consequences to these errors are: * the wrong decisions can be made * the data can given or received can be wrong * the outputs are wrong If the analyst can notice most of the errors as he is working on them so that it may be corrected then this can help keep the project of the report going without too many complications. Prototyping is very helpful when working on reports because the analyst is able to structure and refine the report before it is viewed by the mass majority without the consequences of errors. 4. The date does not specify when the report was generated; it does not give a revision date or code for any prior report versions, does not provide any meaningful information, there is not any page number listed, the spacing of the report information does not seem to be in place. This report is done poorly and is not clear on its intended purpose. ABC Company Page: 1 of 1 Detail Employee Information Today: 02-Jan-08 Employee Number: 12345 Name:...

Why he choose Albania of all the countries in the world because the name sounds sinister and no one in the United States knows anything about the country. Hence it will be easier for them to formulate a story about it that people will surely believe eventually. For the plan to manifest, Winifred Ames and Conrad Bream flew to Los Angeles to seek the help of a top Hollywood producer Stanley Motts (Dustin Hoffman) whom they needed to succeed in their task. ...able to handle more information than other students. Giving these students shorter reading assignments could do nothing but harm the student’s development. It is important to get a feel for what the student can do, much like Charlie did. Finally, it is good to know how they may react to socializing with others. If a student goes to touch a student with autism bad things could happen. Also, if the students don’t understand how an autistic student functions then they could frustrated themselves. Teachers need to make sure everyone is aware of the student’s strengths and weaknesses. There were a questions that this film created for me especially when it came to Raymond’s disability. For example, I wonder what it was like for Dustin Hoffman to learn the role of Raymond in this story. I have heard that in order for people to act in movies that have to become the character they are trying to replicate. They have don’t just act like their character, they have to become their character. Therefore he must have had to do a ton of research on autism and how autistic people act. Knowing this I would ask him what was the training like to create this movie? My second question would be about the mental health institution and what these places are like in real life. From watching the film, it appeared that this place was for adults who have a mental disorder, and can’t function in society. I am sure this is similar to real life, but I would want to know exactly what these places...
