The central research question that has been conducted is ‘‘ what are the differences between the satisfaction of the first year IBMS students studying at Hogeschool Utrecht (HU) and The Hague Hogeschool (HHS) in 2010-2011?’’ The reasons for this research was to find out why the IBMS students at the HU complain more and are dissatisfied and to see whether the students at The HHS are more satisfied. At the HU there are a lot of complaints about mainly the organization of the IBMS program. The goal of this research is to find solutions for the dissatisfaction at the HU.
To find out which factors influence the satisfaction among students at the HU. We have been researching how the school administration, timetables, coaches and teachers have affect/influence on the satisfaction of students at the HU and HHS. Another thing that has been researched is whether the HU and HHS as an organization also play a role in the dissatisfaction among students. For this research, surveys have been held among IBMS students at the HU and HHS. Desk research and interviews will be held to gain more specific information from students, teachers and coaches. The survey has been conducted among 176 IBMS students from the HU and HHS, 7 students from the HU and 5 students from the HHS have been interviewed and 3 teachers from the HU have also been interviewed to have information from another point of view than only from the students.
The outcome for the research that has been conducted is that there is a relation between the satisfaction and the structure of the IBMS program at the HU and that this structure differs with the HHS, which creates dissatisfaction among students at the HU and High satisfaction among students at the HHS. Other factors like facility, exams and courses have also influence on the satisfaction of students at the HU, which are factors that are in contrast with the HHS.
