...Both of these authors have written their own classics, and these two superb literary works will continue to last for generations. Both Brontë and Salinger have very distinct writing styles that contrast one another’s while helping each novel develop an identity of its own. Brontë utilizes a feminine style with its flowery imagery, lengthy and delicate syntax, and incorporates large amounts of emotion into her writing (Literary Analysis of Jane Eyre). Her strong sense of voice helps the novel stand on its own, while also standing the test of time. The book is narrated by Jane, the main character, and having the story told in first person allows Jane to share what happens through her personal view of the situation and provide her thoughts to the reader to help better understand what her character thinks and provides further characterization of Jane.
