I worked in postpartum and newborn care for the first year after I became a nurse. It's so true, hollistic care is important for this population. Having dealt with several women suffering from PTSD after child birth I can testify that listening was a major portion of the care I provided. I worked overnights from 11pm to 7am and I had some down time and usually the mothers would be up all night attending to their babies. I would go and sit down with mothers and just listen to them pour out their thoughts and feelings. It truly made a difference in their outcome and they were very appreciative of my actions. I definitely agree that narratives was most appropriate for this population as it allows a better understanding of what's going
