After listening to Holly and Brittney, it opened my eyes about how much discrimination exits in this country. For example, in some places many transgender individuals have many legal issues, involving their names and their assigned sex that do not match their current appearance. In addition, it reminds me of the different struggles they have to go through when they go to some public places such as hospitals or restrooms to mention some. As a social worker, it is important to stay as current as possible in changes in laws and about different resources available to be able to assist better my clients who might be struggling with some of these.
