...THE GINESTET CASE STUDY. INTERNATIONALISATION AS A WAY TO RENEW BORDEAUX WINE ECONOMY’S ENTREPRISE SPIRIT (1978-2000) Christian Delpeuch, chief executive officer of Ginestet, Bordeaux, & Hubert Bonin, professor in contemporary economic history at Bordeaux Political Sciences Institute The Bordeaux wine economy endured a grave crisis at the beginning of the last quarter of the 20th century: most of its familial trade houses were submerged by losses and failed down. The renewal of bordeaux wine economy was due to new forms of capitalistic and commercial strategies. Large French financial groups (Suez, Paribas) linked to investment banks, or foreign French and alcohol and spirits groups (Bols, Seagram, Pernod-Ricard, Rémy-Cointreau) or wholesale traders (John Holt) took hold of Bordeaux wine houses. But this trend was brought to a halt at the very end of the century: specialists in wines and alcohols more and more prevailed. Multiregional wine sellers constituted groups which developed all over France dynamic policies to rebuild commercial networks. Whereas their strategy turned towards the internal mass market doesn’t matter here, their involvement in the reshaping of an international network and trademark will be the core of that case study. Whilst waiting for a large synthesis about Bordeaux trade at the end of the century1, we’ll concentrate our attention on a middle-size company, Ginestet, as a testimony about the requirements of internationalisation but...

...Book Review: The House of Mondavi: The Rise and Fall of an American Wine Dynasty by Julia Flynn Siler November 2004, the house of Mondavi took its final stand when accepting a $1.3 Billion bid from Constellation Brands, ending a family run business of over 100 years. This family business marks the effective beginning of the American wine industry, credit for establishing Napa Valley, and recognized as Unites State’s largest wine producer. Julia Flynn Siler, a writer for the Wall Street Journal, tackles the complicated story of the clashing Mondavi family, in her book, The House of Mondavi: The Rise and Fall of an American Wine Dynasty. After hundreds of interviews, Julia was able to give picture perfect descriptions of each character and their role in the Mondavi family business. The book starts by telling the story of Cecar and Rosa; two Italian immigrants who lived a poor life economically but rich with love. They both had an admiration for wine and enjoyed hours of quality family time appreciating every spectrum of the grapes. Julia went back to Indiana, where the Mondavi’s originally lived, and found out that the couple just followed their heart, moved to California with the solemn goal of becoming wine connoisseurs. Once the Mondavi’s got to California they realized their knowledge of wine surpassed those of the current winery owners and invested in their first wine garden. Roberto and Peter Mondavi, the second generation, both inherited Charles Krug...

... Next she sees the bears’ chairs and decides to try out each one of their chairs. She ends up liking the littlest bear’s chair the best, but unfortunately ends up breaking it. She finally feels tired and then goes upstairs to lie down. She tries each bed and ends up falling asleep in the littlest bear’s bed. The bears come back and find that their house has been tampered with. They go through each item and talk about how there is something wrong with their stuff. Then once they reach the beds, the littlest bear finds Goldilocks in his bed and Goldilocks wakes up to quickly run out the window. The author does not explain exactly what happens to Goldilocks after this, but she is never seen or heard from again. Authentic Variant Plan My variant will be directed towards an adolescent audience by including more mature elements such as illegal activities and criminal punishment. The perspective will remain the same as the original and be in told 3rd person. It will remain a narrative so we are able to observer events and omit bias opinions. Instead of the Goldilocks trying the Bears’ things she will ruin their house by...

...Origin - Meaning - History - The Four Cups of Wine for Passover / Pesach The Four Cups of wine used in the Pesach / Passover Seder primarily symbolize the four distinct redemptions promised by G-d to the Hebrews as told in Shemot or Exodus 6:6-7. (1) "I will take you out of Egypt", (2) "I will deliver you from Egyptian slavery", (3) "I will redeem you with a demonstration of my power", and (4) "I will acquire you as a nation". Since each of these cups of wine symbolize an action that was performed by G-d, Jewish people fill a small cup or small wine glass with wine at four different points in the Passover Seder and drink each cup of wine. Drinking from The Four Cups also tells us that we can actively pursue these goals ourselves, meaning that we can actively free ourselves from whatever enslaves us. These are positive goals to salute by having a drink! There is a fifth cup of wine called "The Cup of Elijah" and it is reserved for Elijah the Prophet, who is believed to visit each Passover Seder that takes place around the world. In Shemot or Exodus 6:6-8, following the aforementioned Four Expressions of Redemption, there is a Fifth Expression of Redemption. A Fifth Cup of Wine symbolizes this expression of redemption for all humanity upon the arrival of Messianic Times and because this has not occurred yet, the Fifth Cup of Wine is not drunk. The origin of The Four Cups of Wine dates from rabbinical opinions contained in the Jerusalem Talmud (Pesachim 10:1). The Pesachim tractate...

...JOHN CHAPTER 2(NKJV,NIV,NEW AMERICAN BIBLE) The next day Jesus' mother was a guest at a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. 2 Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus' mother spoke to him about the problem. "They have no more wine," she told him. 4 "How does that concern you and me?" Jesus asked. "My time has not yet come." 5 But his mother told the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." 6 Six stone water pots were standing there; they were used for Jewish ceremonial purposes and held twenty to thirty gallons each. 7 Jesus told the servants "Fill the jars with water." When the jars had been filled to the brim, 8 he said "Dip some out and take it to the master of ceremonies." So they followed his instructions. 9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. 10 "Usually a host serves the best wine first," he said. "Then, when everyone is full and doesn't care, he brings out the less expensive wines. But you have kept the best until now!" 11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was Jesus' first display of his glory. And his disciples believed in him. 12 After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples. 13 It was time for the annual Passover celebration, and Jesus went to Jerusalem.(NKJV) In the temple...

...takes place in a prison like environment and each protagonist is suffering from a form of insanity. The story “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman takes place in the late 19th century , which anchors it in a very specific historical moment in terms of women and their perceived abilities. The narrator and her husband John are renting a beautiful, isolated estate for the summer. The narrator says the house is “The most beautiful place! It is quite alone, standing well back from the road, quite three miles from the village. It makes me think of the English places that you read about. For there are hedges and walls and gates that lock, and lots of separate little houses for the gardeners and people” (Gilman pg.552). It’s a fancy house but more saliently, it stands back away from the road and contains many "locks" and "separate little houses." Overall, this is a very isolating place. It’s separate from the road and therefore could be considered separated from society; the house itself is described as a place that binds and restricts. Within the house the narrator is primarily confined to a “big, airy room….with windows that look all ways” (Gilman, 552). This room is a converted nursery with the grimy yellow wallpaper still on the wall. In keeping with the theme of isolation and restrictions the windows that look out everywhere are barred preventing any sort of escape, and the bed is nailed down to the floor. The narrator is able to see but not participate in what...

...have!’’ little red riding hood said. ‘’ All the better to eat you with’’ the wolf said. Little Red Riding Hood knew that it was not her grandmother, but she also knew that if she tried to run away, the wolf would try to capture and devour her as he did with her grandmother. So she decided to pretend that all was as usual. ‘’ I think you mean all the better to eat the cake and drink the wonderful wine I have brought with me.’’ little red riding hood said. The wolf immediately noticed the aroma of cake and could not resist the temptation. ‘’Oh, sorry you are right, darling. Come closer and give your grandmother a piece of cake and some of that lovely wine, I am very hungry.’’ the wolf said. Little red riding hood did not dare to go any closer to the wolf, so she took the bottle of wine from the brown hamper and threw it at the wolf as hard as she could and ran out of the house. The bottle of wine hit the wolf’s face and he could not see anything for approximately thirty seconds because he got the wine in his eyes. The wolf ran with such trouble to the bathroom to wash the wine off his face. ‘’ You little bastard! I will kill you!’’ the wolf shouted. Little red riding hood ran away as fast as she possibly could to get some help, but suddenly she stumbled over a big stone. She fell and immediately felt a tremendous pain coming from her right foot, she was sure it was broken. She heard something running very fast, it was the wolf. Little red riding hood thought that the wolf...
