- Housekeeping department maintains a smooth communication or relations with the front desk ensuring that the hotel’s main products are ready for sale.
- The following are the main tasks of the housekeeping department: o Clean and prepare guests’ rooms o Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of hotel common areas (lobby, entry, main rest rooms, function areas and foyer) o Determine what rooms are to be cleaned / made up. o Determine what rooms are available and occupied.
The Executive Housekeeper
- Also known as the “Housekeeping Manager”
- Is accountable for the department in terms of staff deployment and development, operational standards and profitability.
- In a successful housekeeping management, delegation, community guidance and direction are key skills required by housekeeping manager.
- It is the executive housekeeper who owns the accountability for standards of cleanliness, maintenance and financial performance within the housekeeping department.
Housekeeping Management and Control Systems
