...INTRODUCTION ANIME. Whenever I hear this word, I automatically switch my brain from serious and normal mode, to hyperactive and otaku mode. When I hear people talk about anime, I can't just leave them be, I'll talk with them! This is how freaky and weird I can be. I first started watching anime when I was a kid, but I took it to the next level when I was in high school. Are you wondering what kind of next level this is? I meant next level as, at first, I only watch it when I come across it. But now, I watch it because I want to. It became my fascination. When I learned that an anime is popular and it's really good, I'll watch it. I may leave my schoolwork undone and watch anime first. This became the topic of my blog. Anime. Hi! I'm a serious, fun, hyperactive, weird and crazy otaku. I'm Lissa Nubla and welcome to my blog! 1 - What is Anime? (The photo above is an example of an anime art/drawing.) So, what is anime? Why is it popular all around the world, just like here in the Philippines? Does anime affect the way of living of the people that watch or are addicted in watching it? According to the article What is Anime by Serdar Yegulalp that I read, "The word anime -- pronounced "ah-knee-may" -- is an abbreviation of the word animation. In Japan, the word's used to refer to all animation." Also, according to Katherine Luther, anime is essentially Japanese animation and in fact, the word 'anime' is a shortened version...

...line from the wanting to watch anime to needing to watch it. Our personal take on anime is we watch what we enjoy. And we truly like anime. But we keep thinking we should stop watching because it is childish. We purchase anime on rare occasions, and watch anime maybe once a week. Recently we have been watched a lot more anime than we should often since we found online site for anime. We’ve guess what we am saying is most of my friends and family "don't get the anime thing". Therefore, we end up watching anime on my own feeling something like a social outcast. Socially we am busy being as we am out of college, in a very exhausting job, trying to find time to date, into sports, looking into grad school, etc. we know there are others out there thinking the same thing. ...cartoon women, she has entire websites devoted to her. Is Jessica being objectified, degraded, and having her rights taken away? Logically, no, because Jessica is merely ink-and-paint, a figment of someone’s imagination brought to life only by the mechanical and visual trickery of animation. As she said, it’s not her fault she was drawn to represent a stereotypical male conception of an idealized woman. Why should we care if people have changed her from a children’s animated figure into an adult porn star? The purpose of this essay is to answer just that: the reasons we should care, and why research should not ignore cartoon porn, and in particular hentai, when it studies pornography. According to anime scholar Mark McLelland, hentai is the Western label applied to Japanese anime, manga and games that depict sexually explicit and pornographic images and narratives. ...S'pore youth savvy with finances: survey Daniel Buenas 392 words 8 September 2005 Business Times Singapore English (c) 2005 Singapore Press Holdings Limited SINGAPORE'S youth value education and family, have entrepreneurial tendencies and are not ignorant when it comes to financial choices, a survey has found. In the face-to-face survey of 1,400 Singaporeans aged 15-29 by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, it was found that 44 per cent had life insurance, and of those who did, a quarter had between two and four policies. Also, 28 per cent of the respondents had some form of medical or hospitalisation insurance, with 20 per cent of this group having between two and four policies. 'These figures were quite surprising,' said Henry Koh, a lecturer at Ngee Ann's School of Business and Accountancy, yesterday. 'A lot of these were students, yet the percentage of people (who have policies) is quite high. I think it shows some concern over financial security in the future and that they're more savvy in terms of insurance.' The survey, which aimed to give insights into Singapore's 'Generation Y', also found that 7 per cent of interviewees had invested in either unit trusts or mutual funds, with 22 per cent of this group having between 2-4 investments. The top three companies for both life and medical insurance were AIA, Prudential and NTUC Income. And being young hasn't stopped Singaporeans from owning credit cards either. According to the survey, 29 per cent of those interviewed...
