In the time when Aubert was in charge of helping children, money was a big concern for her. In 1890s, New Zealand was experiencing a hard time(hardship) with social problems of the industrialising and urbanizing society.(Munro, J 1996) Aubert had to put her own money for caring children and even using her own money was not enough. This idea of how Aubert decided to put her own money in helping children shows how much she loved and cared for the children no matter who they were are and where they were came
