The decisions in World War I (WW1), or the Great War, were mostly the reasons for the start of World War II (WW2). In 1902, a man named Benito Mussolini moved to Switzerland from Italy to avoid going to jail. He was an avid socialist news reporter. While earning a reputation as a political journalist and public speaker, he produced propaganda for a trade union, proposing a strike and advocating violence as a means of enforcing demands. (Hibbert, Foot. Jan 12, 2000). He had got into a lot of trouble with the Switzerland police due to his writing. Mussolini had been arrested and sent back to Italy, then being set free moved back to Switzerland. He got arrested again and was drafted into the military and completed his time. Due to the hope he offered, his popularity grew. Eventually, he would attempt a march on Munich with his Fascist regime, but he got arrested. However, popularity still grew and grew and in 1933, the president, at that time for Germany, made him Chancellor. Hitler believed he was Germany’s destined savior, and developed a dictatorship with himself at the center. Germany and Italy had a lot of things in common, so they started to become closer allies. Hitler began asking around for other rulers and their people to go along with Germany. Later, after being in power, Hitler started talking to Japan, which had taken over eastern China.
