How Did Ho Chi Minh Contribute To Communism

Ho Chi Minh, an advocate for the freedom of Vietnam...and communism. Yea I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel about it either. My topic, Ho Chi Minh, was basically the sole reason that the Vietnam war happened, because of him trying to take leadership of Vietnam. Then, Ho Chi Minh, “He Who Enlightens”, became a symbol of Vietnam’s struggle for unification. Ho Chi Minh helped found the Indochinese Communist Party in the 1930s after he learned about Communism from studying in France(History.com/ Fitgerald, Brian). He then brought it back to his home country, Vietnam, with good intentions to spread his newfound political system. But America saw that as dangerous because Russia’s leading system, Communism, and at the current time America’s biggest enemy happened to be Russia. It’s kinda ironic that because America thinks of Ho Chi Minh as the enemy, even though his name means “He who enlightens”.
Ho Chi Minh saw it has his goal to bring independence to Vietnam (NYtimes.com). But his idea of peace was to turn Vietnam into a communistic state. America didn’t think too fondly of that because they feared that Communism would take over the majority of all systems on earth. America took it in their own hands and went to Vietnam to stop Ho …show more content…
Ho Chi Minh ignited the war by declaring independence from France with a quote ripped directly from the Declaration of Independence, “All men are born equal: the Creator has given us inviolable rights, life, liberty, and happiness!” (History.com). He was almost like a modern day Thomas Jefferson. It wouldn't be till like thirty years later that his dream actually comes true, an independent Vietnam. But in the mean time Ho Chi Minh has assembled a group that will follow by him called the Viet Minh, not to be confused with Viet Cong that was his second group during the Vietnam

Causes of the Vietnam War

...1975. This war just prolonged the struggles between nationalist forces attempting to unify the country of Vietnam. Most of the factors that contribute to the war were the beliefs by a lot of people who wanted to prevent Vietnam of becoming an Independent Country. There are many people who suffered a lot due to this war going on and still due to this day people still picturing how they fought the war. What were the causes of the Vietnam War? Why did the United States become involved in this war? Why did the Vietnam War have such a huge impact both on the Vietnam and the United States? What was the impact that Ho Chi Minh had during the War? One of the most important features when describing the Vietnam War was why the United States became involved in the war, and their reasons for conflict amongst the Vietnamese in the North of the 17th Parallel. It is known that the US was involved for many reasons, particularly their belief in the Domino theory where if one country fell to Communism, the rest of South-East Asia would fall along with it. There are many other reasons why the United States became involved in this war. There are many reasons why the United States became involved was them being concerned with Vietnam and that would lead to the Domino Theory. The Domino Theory began when US policy-makers and most Americans considered Communism as the antithesis to what they believed in. Communists ridiculed Democracy, desecrated Human Rights, withheld Trading from industrialist nations...

Introduction to Global Marketing

...PART 2 The Global Marketing Environment CHAPTER 2 The Global Economic Environment Case 2-1 The Global Economic Crisis I n his 1997 book One World, Ready or Not, William Greider described the United States as “the buyer of last resort.” Greider explained that, for many years, the United States was the only nation that was willing to absorb production surpluses exported by companies in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Greider asked: “Who will buy the surpluses when the United States cannot?” The conventional wisdom has long held that strong spending by consumers in other nations would keep the world economy humming. However, by 2008, Greider’s question was taking on a new urgency and the conventional wisdom was being tested. An economic crisis that had its roots in lax subprime mortgage lending practices began to spread around the globe. In the United States, where the crisis began, economic misery was widespread: The housing market collapsed, real estate values plummeted, credit tightened, and job growth slowed (see Exhibit 2-1). As the price of oil passed the $100 per barrel benchmark, the average price of a gallon of gasoline rose to $4. American consumers were, indeed, less willing and less able to buy. However, the crisis was not confined to the United States alone. Consumer-goods exporters in Asia, which Exhibit 2-1: The bursting of the global real estate bubble was only one aspect of the worst recession in decades. The ripple effects from the economic...

I was thirty-five at the time, four years out of law school, recently married, and generally impatient with life. A seat in the Illinois legislature had opened up, and several friends suggested that I run, thinking that my work as a civil rights lawyer, and contacts from my days as a community organizer, would make me a viable candidate. After discussing it with my wife, I entered the race and proceeded to do what every first-time candidate does: I talked to anyone who would listen. I went to block club meetings and church socials, beauty shops and barbershops. If two guys were standing on a corner, I would cross the street to hand them campaign literature. And everywhere I went, I’d get some version of the same two questions. “Where’d you get that funny name?” And then: “You seem like a nice enough guy. Why do you want to go into something dirty and nasty like politics?” I was familiar with the question, a variant on the questions asked of me years earlier, when I’d first arrived in Chicago to work in low-income neighborhoods. It signaled a cynicism...

Each entry provides a detailed explanation of the concept, outlining contested definitions and approaches, the evolution of how the concept has been used to understand particular geographic phenomena, and suggested further reading. In so doing, each book constitutes an invaluable companion guide to geographers grappling with how to research, understand and explain the world we inhabit. Rob Kitchin Series...
