Nathan Hale, an impactful american revolutionist, continues to be admired and remembered by americans across the nation today. Born in Connecticut on June 7, 1755, Nathan was one of twelve children. He attended Yale university, where he became ardent to the cause of american freedom. although he studied to become a missionary, he was involved in many political conversations at school. Because of his passion for discussion, he learned how to debate and how to form an argument. upon graduating, Nathan hale became a school teacher. According to his students, Hale taught well because of his instinctive ability to lead. After fighting the British siege in Boston, Hale got promoted to commander in 1776. HE then became part of the Knowlton Rangers, a group of spies, where he gathered information from british troops. Washington asked one of the Rangers to go spy on the british soldiers that camped at Long Island. He then said after accepting the mission, "I wish to be useful and every kind of service, necessary to the public good, becomes honorable by being necessary." Nathan then went undercover as a schoolteacher in order to gather intelligence and information. After a week, the plan was for Nathan to go back to his camp with the information that he gathered.
