The Trial of Genghis Khan Even though the Mongols did do many horrible, barbaric things they did do a few good things. They invented many different things like new firearms. The Mongols innovated weapons from pistols to missiles. They also wanted to conquer the world and institute the a global order based on free trade, a single international law, and a universal alphabet. The mongols introduced paper currency intended for use everywhere and attempted to create schools for universal basic education so that everyone would be able to read. They made more accurate calendars and maps. They sent out explorers to to expand their commercial and diplomatic reach. Genghis Khan and his followers slaughtered over one million people and being mistreated by the invading army. They were abusive and killed many people. Other things that the Mongols did were violate people’s rights and forced their social classes and way of life onto people. The one civil thing that the Mongols did do was have a religious acceptance. They took away people’s rights to marry people from other social classes, freedom of movement, freedom of speech and their ability to have legal representation. They were prohibited from learning the Mongol language because then they wouldn’t know what the governmental documents would say. The Mongols would arrive in cities and demand them to surrender. If they didn’t surrender they would slaughter people until they would surrender. Even if they did surrender they would move everyone out of the city and then ransack it to the ground.
