...P1 Report on Promotional mix of two organizations Introduction This is a report written after investigation into two shopping plazas. The report will be describing the promotional mix used by two organizations, which are Arkan plaza and The Hub by Sodic Group. I will then provide details and support the promotional mix with examples. I will also give examples of whether these types of promotional mixes raise sales or establish a local profile (the image of the business) then I will be talking about how they use promotional activities to promote the other 3 Ps - (Price, place, product) and how promotion of the fourth P affects them. I will be extending this by explaining how one of the two organizations promotions is integrated with the rest of the marketing mix so that it is able to achieve its marketing aims and objectives. To do this I will begin by clearly stating marketing aims and objectives of that organization. To conclude my report, I will evaluate and justify the use of an appropriate promotional mix in relation to marketing objectives of the chosen organization. The promotional mix of The Hub by Sodic Group Advertising Billboard advertising Westtown hub advertises their organization and the businesses open in their Hub through billboards. They advertise their organization through billboards because this will allow them to have access to a very large amount of potential customers. As well as making people know what businesses are open in west town...

...with the affirmative that mainstream media does have a liberal, leftist bias. This media which includes major traditional mainstream news networks and newspapers have had a long standing liberal bias. In the video that was viewed in class, which was made in 2001 the author Justin Lewis was even claiming that the media had been very heavy left bias in the years past. It has only continued to increase for the liberal bias throughout the years. This can be seen by not only the coverage, but also by the past publicly expressed of political opinions of most major reporters, anchors, producers, etc. The dictionary defines a liberal as a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties. It also defines a leftist as an outlook or specific position that accepts or supports social equality, often in opposition to social hierarchy and social inequality. It usually involves a concern for those in society who are disadvantaged relative to others and an assumption that there are unjustified inequalities, which right-wing politics views as natural or traditional that needs to be reduced or abolished. In this paper I will affirm the argument that is made by Mr. Lewis in favor for a liberal media. In the beginning of the video Lewis...

...Paola Basantes Writer Choices Social Media in Marketing Enough of the Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. They say it hurts us because we are so addicted and it will fry our brain. Well that's what they all say. But as for me, I say thank you to these accounts. Social media has brought so many new opportunities for me and everyone around the world. I think everyone knew after one day of having a Facebook account that this new type of media would help people keep in touch with long-distance friendships and far away relatives. However, I don’t think they even had an inkling of what kind of benefits social media could bring into the lives of a business. Businesses everywhere, young and old, are jumping on this new fad of marketing themselves through multiple social media sites. According to Consumer Reports, in June 2012 there were more than one hundred and fifty million Americans with Facebook accounts and over five hundred million memberships worldwide (Fewkes 92). What does this mean for the market industry? Money flowing like the Colorado Rockies. Marketers for businesses saw the ideal opportunity to make more money by simply putting ads on Facebook or making a page about themselves to help promote and get the word out there. Facebook and other social networks were more efficient than ad exchanges and delivered higher-quality users than any other marketing channel or stream. Facebook has really created this new category and kind of occupies it in terms...

...Executive Summary Social media, online social networking service, has been existed for a long time. In that time, people use social media as an effective way to expand our social circle. People who use these sites form a social network, which provides a very strong and powerful way to connect, share interests, and keep in touch with others across the miles. However, as “the valuation of Facebook raised in a significant way, settling at figures in excess of $80 billion just after the company’s developer conference in September, 2011” (O'Dell, 2011). This valuation of the social media is only ranked second to Google’s. Even an obtuse CEO can realize the important impact on the business industry that social media will bring. Such a high valuation is not only because Facebook provides more than 600 million users a platform to communicate with each other, both in their leisure time and at work. Therefore, it is obvious to observe the social media’s economic impact. The economic impacts of the social media are increased work opportunities, decreased business cost, positive push in consumers’ purchasing behavior, increased opportunities for small businesses, and increased employees’ productivity. However, one thing should be noted that there may some different economic impacts in different countries because each country has their own cultures, economies, and business structures. Introduction of Social Media Social media, online social networking service, is among the most popular...

...Though it is very apparent how social media has provided a big impact in ways that benefits the people by means of networking , the more darker and cynical side to which social media brings still widely remains hidden under the cover for many people to see. Mental illnesses are one of the more closely related issues that arise among social media users that cause serious and to some cases even life-threatening problems. Moreover, with the age of technology reaching its prime allowing just about anybody with a gadget as small as a mobile smartphone with the capability of going online, the access to social media cannot as easily be prevented as one would think. With all of us being the human beings we are, influence is a weakness we all have...

...How political, legal and social factors impact on businesses. In this assignment I will be conducting a PESTLE (Political, Environmental, Social, Technological, Legal and Economical) analysis of two companies, McDonalds & Samsung. I will be looking at the factors which affect the business at this current time and also factors that may potentially affect them in the future and what they can do as a response and the benefits and drawbacks that may come with their response. McDonalds “McDonald's is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries across 35,000 outlets” and was founded in the United States in 1940 and currently have more than 1,200 restaurants in the UK. Political Politics can heavily affect the way in which McDonalds operate, as regulations set by the government have to be followed by organisations or could result in consequences, fines and bad publicity. Firstly, one political factors could be, that the governments are trying to cut down the rate of obesity in the UK (it is estimated that around 25% of the UK is classed as obese and that is set to rise to 50% by 2050) by: encouraging the UK population to eat healthier and to cut down on fast foods and sugary foods and to inform the population more about the health risks associated with obesity e.g. (diabetes & strokes). McDonalds have responded to this by; introducing healthier recipes and products – such as a wider...

...for Social Media Dominance As Facebook currently holds 800 million current active users worldwide, they maintain the world’s leading social media sharing website. Facebook has jumped past other social media websites like Linkedin and MySpace within the first few years of existence. Google has tried time and time again to get to the place where Facebook currently has a strong hold on everyone’s online identity. Google has poured tons of money into years of development with several projects to mimic Facebook. Google has once again begun the implementation of a new social media website called Google+. Google+ is Google’s fourth attempt at mimicking Facebook’s social media website. Another powerhouse in social media is Twitter. Twitter currently has 300 million users. Before getting into the competitors of this industry, one must know how each social media network makes revenue. Since all of these companies do not force people to pay a premium in order to gain a membership they must find an alternate way of generating money. There are two ways these companies make money, investors and IPO’s, ads, and premiums from satellite companies. For example, Facebook is able to charge companies likes Zynga a 30% charge of all virtual purchases done on their game from allowing Zynga the ability to put their game on Facebook’s platform. Mainly these companies form money from companies who wish to display ads for their companies on people’s sidebars of their profile. This is mainly how Google...

...In our American society, we are taught at a young age to help those in need; when we grow up we forget about that or choose to ignore it. That is how Non-Profits were born. In today’s world, Non-Profits are growing in numbers and funding is getting spread wider across a variety of Non-Profits. Which makes earned media an essential tool for corporations. Nowadays, paid and earned media can be applied to traditional media, and social media. This paper is going to focus on earned media and how it is more beneficial for a Non-Profit to use these routes instead of paying for it. According to the book Advertising & IMC: Principles and Practice earned media is definite as “free publicity generated through promotional efforts other than paid media, often resulting from public relations or social media.”...

...is health education? Health education is making people aware of what health problems exist and how to prevent, deal and live with them. Health education is really important in order to keep us up to date with our health. The World Health Organisation says that health is defined as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. The three types of health education that I am going to talk about are mass media, 2 way communication and social marketing. Chegg textbook says that "Mass media consists of the various means by which information reaches large numbers of people". This could be through things like social networking sites, TV advertisements, national campaigns and many more. An example of health campaigns through mass media and adverts is Change 4 Life, mass media is a major part of their campaigning as they wouldn't be as bug of an organisation as they are now without it. As the media and content reaches a larger audience, it is more likely to affect or change their opinion or attitude towards the subject matter. Although mass media reaches large amounts of people, it cannot offer personal help or support. Mass media is good for organising events of spreading news quickly, mass media isn't so good at offering two way information- which is basically an actual conversation, with both sprite involved. Mass media also isn't very good at providing solutions to certain problems because where it can't use two way...

...In the article, IT Focus shifts to social, brand management, by Ben Rooney, it discussed how brand management is becoming, “one of the most important functions of business computing as companies shift away from simply processing historic data, to seeking out ways to interact with, and to influence consumers.” (Rooney, 2013) Informatica Corpo located in California wants to find a way to facilitate interactions in order to optimize brand management via social media. This article is important to marketing management because this company is trying to plan and execute a way to find out what their consumers like or dislike via social media. By doing this, they can know who to target as an individual but also affect that same individual. This would then help Informatica Corpo realize pricing and promotion to satisfy the target market of the customers they are trying to reach. When they do this, they will be able to know what their customers want and how to maintain that relationship. Current marketing management trends that are supported in this article are within marketing planning. The book defines marketing planning as the process produces three outputs: (1) establishing marketing objectives, (2) selecting the target marketing, and (3) developing the marketing mix. (Peter & Donnelly, p.22, 2013) Informatica Corpo is working on brand management but more specifically, selecting a target market. This company is trying to identify their customer’s wants and needs and what must be...

...GOALS AND STRATEGIES OF SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING Good morning, how was your night? Or how are your family members are usually the most common conversation on phone calls. However when social media came into existence, it provides other avenues where these and other conversations can occur. Apart from having conversations with friends and loved ones, social media provide new opportunities for businesses to market their good and services. The question now is what is social media, what role does it play in marketing, what are the goals and strategies of social media marketing. Before social media came into existence, television commercials, bill board and news paper advertisement are the main marketing strategy. Unlike the past, traditional marketing strategy such as television commercials and newspaper advertisements do not give much impact to the customers these days (Or, 2010). Social media employ mobile and web-based technologies to create highly interactive platforms via which individuals and communities share, co-create, discuss, and modify user-generated content.( Jan H. Kietzmann*, Kristopher Hermkens, Ian P. McCarthy, Bruno S. Silvestre 2011). Social media allows people to be more connected than ever before and the mediums available for marketing are Changing rapidly as new technologies are becoming more available. Social media has become the method of statement in the 21't century, enabling us to express our belief, ideas and manner in a absolute new way. (Saravanakumar...
