The Diary of Anne Frank written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett is a play that showed anger in a very relevant way. Anger is a very important universal theme that is showcased in much of any scenario. For one to cooperate with others during tough times, anger must exist. To commence, Mrs.Van Daan, mother of Peter, showed anger when Anne had spilled milk on her precious fur coat. The anger shown towards Anne came through a lot this scene all because of the milk spill. “Now look at what you’ve done… you clumsy little fool! My beautiful fur coat my father gave me…”(Goodrich and Hackett 721). This outraged statement made by Mrs.Van Daan showed how angry the Van Daans got in the closed confinement over the smallest things. Frank, reveals anger while discordant with her mother. This discordant occured when Margot said that she just wanted the end no matter what it was. This was followed with Mrs.Frank saying that Margot should be ashamed of talking in that manner. Anne became angry and explained why living in misery gives them no ideals to look for; agreeing with Margot. “It is’t our fault that the world is in such a mess!
