Focus: Mary and her family will be able to utilize coping skills to manage Mary’s inappropriate and defiant behaviors in diverse setting. Ms. Smalls (MHP) and Mrs. Gailliard (MHS) process preparing Mary for transfer to another home.
Intervention: MHP and MHS discuss Mary’s behaviors and process any changes. MHP ask MHS to provide information on interventions that were more effective. MHP encourage MHS to use positive reinforcement and redirection at the time of the display behaviors. MHP explain waiting until later to process the incident with Mary, causes tension. The tension is from Mary denying the behaviors or the actions because Mary displays selective memory.
