How Misunderstood Bats Are Alike

Did you realize that bats are some of the most unappreciated animals ever? In the article “Bats,” author unknown it goes into depth about how misunderstood bats actually are. Bats are probably the most misconceived creatures ever because many people just use rumors that they have heard before, and think that bats do not do anything except fly around. After all, when people think of bats they do not actually believe that bats can help our environment. Some people assume that bats are just plain old rodents with the ability to fly. This is not true, in fact humans and bats have extremely similar skeletons. The bone structure in a bat's wing could be compared to a human’s arm and hand bone. Humans and bats hand bones are amazingly comparable because both mammals have four fingers and a thumb. Since bats need to have support for the web of skin that is in between the body and fingers this skeletal figure is remarkably helpful. While bats can not see colors, they make up for it by having the skill to see in both dim and bright lights. For those gardeners out there, bats can actually help take care of gardens. After all, certain bats eat those nasty insect pests who eat all the beautiful plants. As a fact there is one species of bats that have the capability to eat up to six-hundred mosquitoes an hour. Those bats can also eat half of their body weight in insects every single night! There are many different bats that help to pollinate too. These specific bats tend to pollinate in tropical rain forests where they pollinate peaches, mangoes, guavas, and many other fruits.
