A NEW BIRTH CALLED EARTH
BY Nathaniel Glover

One, two, three
I am happy as you can see.
I found a place
Yes a place that has a great big face.

This face gave birth.
I called it Earth.

It has a lot of spots
Sometimes it is cold and hot.
Some spots are hills and mountains.
So in order to be cool I have to drink from water fountains.

This face gave birth.
I called it Earth.

The grass is green
I can hear it say you got to keep me clean.
So let me post a sign that says don’t litter
That will help to get rid of all the glitter.

This face gave birth.
I called it Earth.

The children are riding on bicycles
They are holdings signs that say let’s recycle.
The noise we hear comes from the train
Oh don’t forget this place needs a lot of rain.

This face gave birth.
I called it Earth.

The lakes and rivers run throughout the land
That is why I must give this place a helping hand.
The animals that roam are so smart
That is why the face that gave birth looks like a piece of art.

This face gave birth.
I called it Earth.

There are many hands waving from the trees
They are producing a lot of cool breeze.
Transportation and factories are causing a lot of pollution
So I say I must come up with a solution.

This solution must be able to save this place
That had a great big face.
That gave birth
I call it Earth.

Which liquid cleans the pennies better the orange juice or the vinegar? Based on the experiment I will say on all three trials the orange juice cleaned the pennies better than the vinegar on a 24 hour period.I expected the vinegar to clean the pennies instead it made it rusty in the last trial when it was for 24 hours. Experiment Hypothesis Orange juice on one set of pennies and vinegar on another set of pennies in separate containers will make you ask which liquid will clean the pennies is it the orange juice or vinegar? Amount Of Copper In A Penny

...11/9/14 How Much Copper Is in a Penny? Determination of the Amount of Copper in a Penny Abstract: Introduction: Prior to 1982, pennies consisted of 95% copper. That year, Congress changed the amount of copper in pennies to 2.5% copper by mass. Both the copper and zinc in pennies can be separated out according to the reactions: Cu(s) + 4HNO3(aq) + 2H2O(l) → Cu(H2O)42+(aq) + 2NO2(g) + 2NO3-(aq) Zn(s) + 4HNO3(aq) + 2H2O(l) → Zn(H2O)42+(aq) + 2NO2(g) + 2NO3-(aq) These reactions produce the complex ions of Cu and Zn: Cu(H2O)42+ and Zn(H2O)42+. Complex ions are made of a central atom covalently bonded to two or more anions or molecules called ligands. Ammonia can be replace the water...

Personal Narrative: Luke Hartle's Cleanshot

...It’s your club’s annual trap tournament for all its bragging glory and you’ve had a long day. There plenty of busted blue rock under your belt, but you’re bushed and all you really want to do is concentrate on that last stage. Except there’s that little gnawing voice in the back of your head nagging, “You have to clean your gun.” Sigh… no matter how you skin it — especially after a couple hundred rounds — this is just no fun. As Luke Hartle found at the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas this reluctant ritual might be a thing of the past. Cleanshot from Huntego makes polishing your gun’s bore as simple as pulling the trigger and just as fast. An innovative concept, as company phrases it a pass-through cleaner, Cleanshot is fired through your...

Safe Water

...Name of Student Instructor Course Date Clean, Sparkling Water for the Developing World In most parts of the developed world, water is available upon demand. At any given moment, the citizens of these nations can be able to access fresh, clean and sparkling water. However, hundreds of thousands and in some instances, millions in the developing world are unable to access clean water. Imagine turning the taps on and there is no water gushing out or has been for the past couple of months. Imagine a fire outbreak, the fire hydrants are running dry, resulting into massive property losses and the possibility of loss of lives. These are the daily occurrences in the most parts of the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) gives an estimation of more than half of the populace in the developing countries lacks access to safe water. Often, people and most often women and children have to cover long distances during their search of the precious commodity (World Health Organization). The lack of access to safe water is a problem that often leads to other complications. For instance, insufficient drinking water will lead to the consumption of contaminated water, which exposes the individuals and communities to water borne diseases such as cholera and amoeba infections. Such complications often lead to death, and rob such communities within such countries of their productive populations and future generations (small children and babies). Another complication as a result of inaccessibility...

Hokey-Pokey

...Etymology is the study of a word’s origin and how the words have altered throughout history; words are defined differently at an early point in history than what they are defined as now sometimes because of new technology that has been developed or new traditions that are used while older traditions are no longer noticed. These changes are unavoidable and unstoppable since words have continued to change and evolve since language first came into being. The Proof of these changes lies with words that are no longer in use and with words that have new meanings. An example of this is found with the word Hokey-Pokey; this word at one point in its etymology history meant something other than what Hokey-Pokey is defined as today. When thinking about the word Hokey-Pokey people normally think about the song, “You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out, you put your right foot in and you shake it all about…” (Hokey-Pokey). However, this song isn’t related to the original word use of the word Hokey-Pokey. This word has a history of “accusations of Plagiarisms” (Hokey-Pokey). This song was originally written by Jimmy Kennedy in 1942, but was originally called “cokey-cokey, the okey-cokey and the hokey-cokey” (Hokey-Pokey). It wasn’t until 1949 that Larry LaPrise was given credit for the United States version that used the name Hokey-Pokey; this is probably where the accusations of plagiarism came from (Hokey-Pokey). This proves how languages change throughout history, altering...

...assures the customers that this product is safe to use anytime. Also it stops hairs from having a faded color look which is easily identifiable with other hair dye products that contains ammonia. A faded color hair indicates that the product has left the hair’s cuticle open, leading to a hair that is brittle and very dry. Another bad thing is that one of the amino acids of the hair, called Tyrosine, gets damaged by any hair care product containing ammonia. The absence of Tyrosine then reduces the ability of the hair to preserve its natural color. Although Revlon’s product ensures a healthy hair it isn’t the perfect answer for hair treatment and there are some other steps that are needed to keep the moist healthy look. In order to keep a clean healthy looking hair, the hair...

Evacuation

...The lives of people on the home front were greatly changed by evacuation during World War II. How useful and reliable are these sources in explaining how people's lives were changed by evacuation during World War II. During World War II, children were moved to places such as the countryside due to area's being at risk of being bombed by the Germans. Pregnant women, teachers and the disabled were also evacuated. They all had to leave behind their families at home to move to area's where they were at lower risk of the bombing. All the evacuations took place on the 1st of September 1939, the evacuation was named 'Operation Pied Piper'. Over one million evacuees left London by train, all the children would have a label attached to them with their destination they would be staying at. The aim of this essay is to see why the lives of many people were changed due to the evacuations. I will be analysing a range of primary and secondary sources to decide how reliable and useful they are to she how they changed people's lives. In Source A1, it informs people that the government have made plans for the removal from what are 'evacuable' area's to safer area's known as 'receptional' area's, the source tells you that this for school children, children who are too young for school as long as they are accompanied by their mothers and also for the blind people. The refrigerator is always full, my clothes are always clean as a matter of fact I constantly come home to find new clothing on my bed, compliments of my mom. I have an IPhone 6 Plus and have never paid a phone bill. I have my own bedroom with Direct TV and my own bathroom. I pay no rent. I have a 2015 Audi A3 with full insurance coverage, and I have never paid a penny towards either. What will become me of if I move out on my own? My so-called friends keep telling me I should move out, get a place on my own. In their opinion I should be out on my own, living my life and living it up. I have convinced myself to some degree that their opinion is right, that I am nineteen and I should be out on my own. That my parents have no right to tell me what to do, or how to live, or to expect anything from me. My parents with their rules to do well in college, maintain a part time job, stay our of trouble and to please keep my room clean are just way too much to expect from me. I should be able to screw up if I want, I tell myself, and have an attitude because I am a man now. I can treat people however I want. I believe that for now I need to get my act together. I need to realize what have and start appreciating all that my parents have given to me and continue to give. I must better assess the opinions and suggestions...
