The most interesting thing I observed in today’s microscope lab was that I was able to view algae from a sample of pond water. The total magnification which I made the observation was 450. Been able to see algae just with the sample of pond water is amazing because whenever I see pond water I never think about what it beholds I just thought of it as water and nothing spectacular.

In the plant cell I observed the chloroplast organelle. My observations for the chloroplast organelle was that the shape was a circle and very tiny. I also I learned that the function of the chloroplast organelle is to conduct photosynthesis. In the animal cell I observed the nucleus. My observations for the nucleus was that the shape was a oval. When you look through the microscope it looks like a nucleus inside of the nucleus. I also I learned that the animal cell of the nucleus is to hold genetic code (DNA).

The first property of life I was able to identity for plants was growth. Plants start as a seed and grow to be a plant. Plants also follow another propetire of life that is reproduction. Plants produce offsprings. One more propertie of life that plants follow is evolution. Plants follow natural selection that change over time. From the seven properties I was also able to identify several properties for animal cells. Animals are able response to environment. For, example when I got out for run I produce sweat because my body is regulating my body temperatures. Another, property would be growth. Growth is the stages of life. The stages start with birth and end with death. The last property I was able to observe from the animall cell was reproduction. Animals as well as humans are able to reproduce of their own
