How to make my Great Grandma’s chocolate cake Have you ever wanted to know how to make a cake? Well my mom makes one of the best German chocolate cakes in the world. My family enjoys it every holiday. First you have to go to the grocery store and get all the supplies and make sure you get Baker’s German Chocolate Cake mix. When you get back to your kitchen you follow the cake recipe on the box, but don’t throw the box away. Open up the box and take out the reciepe for the icing. Next you start to make the cake batter. When the batter is finished evenly distribute it between 3 cake pans and stick them in the oven preheated to 350. You can wait to start the icing or just go straight into making the icing. Then when you decide to start making the icing you don’t follow all the directions on the box. Instead of using milk you substitute it for coffee. My dad likes for the coffee to have a lot of Almoreta in it. When you finish the icing let it sit and wait for the cake batter to finish cooking. Finally when the cakes are finished baking take them out and let them cool on cooling racks. When they are cooled you start icing each cake piece one at a time. Once you finish the first layer start on the second layer then stack it. Repeat that for the third and final layer. There you have it that’s how you make my Great Grandma’s German Chocolate

In your research you'll probably come across really well-written (and not so well-written) arguments about your topic. Do some analysis to see what makes them work. •What claims does the author make? • Why do they sound good? Is it the logic, the sources, the writing, the structure? Is it something else? Brainstorm your own ideas. Sure, you can use the arguments of others to back up what you want to say. However, you need to come up with your original spin on the topic to make it uniquely yours. •Make lists of ideas. You can also try mind mapping. •Take your time. Walk in your neighbourhood or local park and think about your topic. Be prepared for ideas to come to you when you least expect them. Pick your thesis statement. •Look at the ideas that you generated. Choose one to three of your strongest ideas that support your topic. You should be able to support these ideas with evidence from your research. Plan your essay. Take the thoughts that you brainstormed...

...Define the context. If the essay is assigned, certain parameters will usually be defined for you, such as the length of the essay, format of the title page, and the intended audience (e.g. your teacher, an admissions committee, a cheating website) and what length is appropriate. No matter what, if you're given directions, follow them. A brilliant essay might still fail to get its point across if it doesn't follow the rules. Remember, the main point is what you should concentrate on. Stick to the question key words throughout your essay.
