My primary interest in the Fine Arts relates to singing, voice lessons and improving my vocal range. Studying at Howard University is of great interest to me because it offers a tailored music major, the Bachelor of Music with an Elective Studies in Business Jazz Voice Minor. Howard University’s unique degree program will allow me to focus on being a singer or performer, while including the business aspects of those roles. Howard University has a long and proud legacy of successful professionals in the fine arts.
I have grown up within a relatively musical family and I have been influenced and impacted by music greatly. I have been singing since I was a young child. My earliest memories include me singing to my mom’s favorite artists in the …show more content…
I take extreme pride in my academics but singing is the way I truly love to express myself and emotions.Through all four years of high school, I took chorus classes, such as Concert Choir, Treble Chorale and Symphonic Choir for two years. During my junior year the Symphonic Choir had won a silver medal at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association. Also, I personally obtained an honor: the “Unsung Hero” Award from my instructor this same year for “[furthering] the development of one or more choral ensembles, while displaying unassuming musical presence on a daily basis”. I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of my chorus classes and performances. As an aspiring business woman, I would like to better understand the various business elements in order to potentially manage my own career. It is important to me to become a performer and a businesswoman. Being self-employed has always been a goal of mine. I believe self-sufficiency is an admirable trait. It explores seven themes: the meaning and context of plagiarism, the nature of plagiarism by students, how do students perceive plagiarism, how big a problem is student plagiarism, why do students cheat, what challenges are posed by digital plagiarism and is there a need to promote academic integrity?
