The Case of Columbus: Seminar Themes My reaction to this short text from Howard Zinn. A People’s History of the United States. I was very agitated by a lot of things. “ With fifty men we could subjugate them all and make them do whatever we want.” (Zinn paragraph 2) Who in their right mind thinks that this is okay. That was extremely heartless ; I understand that's what he thought, but who taught a man to think of other people in that light. All of those men were “ catholic”, but in their bible it states that “ Thou Shalt not Kill”. (Catholic Bible) and yet the Europeans and Spaniards committed genocide.
