The Bend In the road is a story about Miles Ryan and Sarah Andrews. The story takes place in New Bern NC, where Miles Ryan been living all his life. Miles is a deputy sheriff in his little small town. But before the story beginnings Miles wife got kill one morning while taking her daily run. Miles recalls how it happened, by a hit and run accident that he can never forget. It has been hard for Miles since his wife accident and he even started smoking cigarette.

Miles Ryan has a son named Jonah, he was very small when his mother passed away. It’s been hard trying to raising Jonah on his own and he want to do right by him. As gets Jonah ready one morning for school Miles finds a letter from Jonah teacher, Ms. Andrews, saying that she wants to meet with him later that day. Miles ask Jonah if he knew why his teacher wanted to meet him and Jonah said no.
So when Miles left work he head to the school to pick up Jonah and meet with Ms. Andrews. She let’s Miles Know that Jonah is falling behind on all his class work and he doesn’t know how to read. Miles is in shock and mad because he didn’t know any of this. Because his wife Missy took care of thing at school for Jonah. So they discuss options that they can do and they decide Jonah is going to have to stay after school a days a week to get caught up to the other students.

Sarah Andrew starts asking Miles why Jonah is so far behind on school work and Miles lets Sarah know that Jonah’s mother pass away 2 years ago. After that Sarah starts talking and thinking more and more about Miles till one day she shows up at one of Jonah’s soccer games. Miles was in shock because he didn’t invite her. When she got close she told Miles, Jonah had invited her to his soccer game. When Jonah had saw that Ms. Andrews had made it, he was so happy. Miles let Sarah know that Jonah really loves playing soccer and he’s really good on the field. Jonah made most of the goals that night and they won the game. As Miles walks Ms. Andrews to her car he wants to ask her out so bad, but instead he ask her how her fan was doing and if it was work right. Sarah felt like that was a crazy question to ask, but she knew what he really wanted to ask her.

They talk more and Miles eventually asks her out on a date. Sarah wants to know more about him and his wife and what he miss most about Missy. Miles said he wouldn’t know where to start. Miles tells Sarah how he miss having his wife around, and waking up to her in the morning or just knowing she there. She use to love to read, she could tell me about what she read and make me want to read it. That’s how good she made it sound. Then he let her know it was getting late and they should be heading back. After that they started see each other more often and Jonah lets his father know how much he likes Ms. Andrews. They go to dinner and Sarah tells Miles about her divorce but she leaves one important fact out. Miles can sense she not telling him everything, but he doesn’t say anything about it. Still they keep dating and one night Sarah decides to tell Miles why her husband left her; she is incapable of having children. Miles doesn’t make a big deal out of it and tells her he loves her just how she is and Sarah falls in love with him as well. Everything is going perfect between the two. Miles and Jonah meets Sarah's entire family and is somewhat sure of his future with her. Until shocking secret is revealed and Miles is reminded of his past, when information about Missy's accident is revealed. In beginning the story the person that hit Missy talks about how he feels very guilty and how he used to visit Missy’s grave and bring her flowers every week. The same person would ride by Miles house and look in on him and Jonah. Come to find out the person that hit Missy is Sarah Andrews brother Brian. Miles enraged and believes that Sarah knew alone and he don’t want to have anything to do with Sarah. Sarah don’t know what to do, but she’ll do anything to win Miles heart back. After a while Miles came to his sense and went to Missy grave and waited for Sarah brother Brian to show up so he could talk to him. Brian was shock to see Miles at the grave when he got there and he was a little afraid. Miles speak first and let Brian know he wouldn’t to forget the accident and that he wanted Brian to do something good in his life. Sarah and Miles reunite and lived happily ever.

The Bend In The Road was a very interesting book, It’s the type of book you don’t want to put down. I would recommend this book to people who like reading about romance novel with a little mystery. I didn’t think the book was going to end the way it did, but it was very good. Overall I really enjoy reading this novel.
