Human Resources Management plays a vital role in the health care workplace by ensuring the delivery of health care services and facilitating the best patient outcomes. The human factor presents issues that cover performance management to safety. In health care the human resources department handles a variety of personnel needs for both employers and employees which is precisely what human resources role is “managing personnel related operations.” The human resources department has a vast array of challenges to handle daily. These vary from environmental to organizational and individual. Human resources will usually have a guidebook with common issues outlined in a question and answer format that is n easy to navigate and can be distributed to everyone. Human Resources personnel usually distribute copies to all employees under their management or make it available online for everyone and issue one to new employees upon hiring. The human resources department helps new employees as well as sending some old ones on their way whether through retirement or letting them go because of undesirable circumstances. Payroll comes under this department as well and seems as though human resources management makes decisions about the personal health, progress and welfare of all workers. They can provide many types of counseling whether financial, educational, or otherwise. Employee benefits are another area very depended upon by employees in the human resources department. Whether this is an area of workers compensation, insurance, retirement funding there are many areas depending on what the health care company provides their employees. It is up to this department to sort these benefits and perks out for the employee. Effective human resources management plays a crucial role in the success of health care companies.
