How are family and close relationships affected by Bipolar Disorder? I will use the mixed methods design, which includes quantitative and qualitative research. The convergent parallel design will allow for the quantitative, numerical, and qualitative human experience data to be collected simultaneously, analyzed separately, compared, and interpreted to fully understand the problem. Quantitative data analysis: Being numbers-based, it measures and tests for statistical results while data can be converted to numbers without losing meaning. Limitations: It lacks depth (Grad Coach, 2021, June 9). Qualitative data analysis: As per Grad Coach (2021, May 12), it contains no numbers but focuses on words and experiences while evaluating patterns in the content. Limitations: It is time-consuming and requires a multidimensional focus on a specific timeline. Narrative analysis: Listen to people's stories and how they are told to better understand. Limitations: Small sample sizes, time-consuming, difficult to test findings and reproduce the research, research bias, and social and lifestyle factors can influence the findings. Discourse analysis analyzes conversation and speech within a certain culture or timeline up to a saturation point. Limitation: The research question must be very specific, or data can be lost.
