Human resource management is an important role in the health care organization, and the success of the organization. It is the organizational function that deals with the issues related to staff (doctors, nurses, etc) that include performance, development, safety in the work place, planning, and providing indirect and direct benefits to the company. They are to ensure that the goals and expectations of the organization needs are met. “When done correctly, strategic HR planning provides many direct and indirect benefits for

a company. These include the encouragement of proactive (rather than reactive) behavior,

explicit communication of company goals, stimulation of critical thinking and ongoing

examination of assumptions, identification of gaps between the companies’s current

situation and its future vision, the encouragement of line managers’ participation in the

Strategic planning process, the identification of HR constraints and opportunities, and the

Creation of common bonds within the organization” (Gómez-Mejía, Balkin, & Cardy, 2010).
Human resources also assist in the employment of new staff to the organization. Their choices will reflect the need and expectation the health care organization is in need for to be it’s very best and provide excellent services to the patients and their families. With hiring of staff comes the role to introduce the rules and regulation to each before and after hired. This includes all legal and safety rules, and will also discuss the consequences of rules that are violated in any way. With hiring of staff they will abide by the law of discrimination of any kind when hiring, provide equal opportunity to all that qualify for the position.
