Global warming is a serious issue that affects the whole world whether the world chooses to realize it or not. It affects People of all ages as well as people of different ethnicities and backgrounds. There are also many organizations that are trying to increase awareness of this issue. Some of the organizations are Greenpeace International, The Virginia Tech Environmental Student organization, and The Sierra Club. Scientists have made numerous studies on this increasing issue. There is significant melting of the glaciers in the Polar caps. It affects the type of storms that we have. There have been hurricanes with increasing strength and intensity. With the way things are going with the climate, it is only a matter of time before a serious disaster occurs that will affect the way we live and survive. Americans need to take steps in avoiding this crisis. It is not too late to make a change in how we treat the world. We need to take responsibility for things now instead of leaving it to future generations. Some people believe global warming to be a moral matter. They see this world as a gift from god that is sacred and needs to be upheld and taken care of. Other people view it differently. I personally believe that if we as a race want to survive, we have to take care of what we have. Otherwise we will have to search for a new world. In order for humanity to survive, we have to change how we use our resources and energy. We also have to deal with pollution. Communities can use different forms of energy such as solar, biomass, wind, and etc. These are sources of renewable energy that if harnessed and used properly will power our energy needs. For these things to take place, politicians need to realize the importance of global warming and using renewable resources. They need to understand once our resources are gone, they are gone for good. Everyone will need to change the way they look at the problem of global warming. It is not just one person’s responsibility, it is everyone’s responsibility. We need to analyze all of the moral implications and ramifications of global warming as well as what they are if we stand by and do nothing. We need to come up with a game plan or strategy on how to deal with these issues. These plans should include methods on how to increase the awareness of this subject to other individuals. This will help to get the word out especially to the politicians that can make changes to the law. Once we have changes to the law it will be necessary that the laws be enforced by all individuals. Global warming is a serious issue that can be held at bay if we work together toward a common goal. This will ensure our survival as well as future generation’s survival on Earth. Only by Taking care of what we have, are we going to escape the fate of global warming.
