...MOVIE CRITIC PAPER Action and Adventure Barbara Jones Hum/ 150 Film Studies September 24, 2012 Deborah Taylor When I decided to watch a movie for my critic paper I wanted a film that had a little bit of action, adventure and thriller. I came across the movie Contraband. The mise-en-scene of this film was based on Mark Wahlberg as Chris Farraday; he was a master drug smuggler who had tried to settled down in a normal life as a working dad and loving husband. But his wife in the movie Katie played by (Katie Beckinsale) had a teeage brother in the movie Andy played by (Caleb Jones). During the beginning part of the movie Andy was on a drug run trying to smuggle drugs in on a ship for a drug dealer name Tim played by (Giovanni Ribis) but during his drug run Andy was forced to drop a huge shipment of cocaine off the ship because customs was checking ship making sure it was drug free. And because of that Andy lands himself, Katie, Chris into a huge financial problem. Chris (Mark Wahlberg) tried to negotiate with Tim Briggs to pay him back the money that was lost cause of the cocaine drugs being dumped off the ship. However Tim only gives Chris and Andy 2 weeks to give him back the money that was lost due to him dumping the drugs off the ship. Chris now has to make the decision to get back into the game of smuggling drugs and trying to bring in counterfeit money to save his brother in law from being killed. Chris rounds up a few friends to go with him to Panama to help him...

...HUM/150 Team B Week 3 Learning Team Assignment Color-vs-Black and White Study Spider-Man 2 and The Maltese Falcon Introduction Our assignment this week was to compare the effects of color versus black-and-white in films. Learning Team B selected Spider-Man 2 as the color film, and The Maltese Falcon as the black-and-white film. While referencing the influence of color and black-and-white imagery, we will examine the following topics: How color or black-and-white… • Contributed to the expression of each film • Influenced the atmosphere of the films • Affected characterization • Provided transitional changes • Helped mirror the director’s intent Expression Maltese Falcon Shot in black and white this film depends on the use of multiple elements to attain the desired emotional response and reaction to the characters and the plot of the story. The use of lighting to obtain physical shadow, create depth, and establish area and time are very important but lighting is also used to indicate darker or lighter moods and situations. Black & white is a great contribution to the expression of this story, it has layers and shades of grey that add to the overall enjoyment of watching this movie. Spider-Man 2 This movie portrays a comic book superhero and is shot in bright, bold, sometimes exaggerated colors to obtain this effect. It has moments of lightness with cooler coloring and lighting for a few romantic and comical scenes but for the most part...

KOKIL JAIN SUBMITTED BY- ANUJ DIWAKAR ENROLLMENT NO- A1802011097 SECTION-C * Will Cinthol's new ad campaign be able to capture youth's attention? If Karen Lunel bathing under a waterfall gave Liril a shot in the arm, Vinod Khanna running on the seashore did the same for Cinthol. After Khanna, the other heartthrobs who lent their face (and other body parts too) to Cintol were Imran Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. However, what Lunel did for Liril, Cinthol could not quite duplicate with all the hunks put together — perhaps because shopping trips in large parts of India are still a male domain. But times have changed and so has Cinthol. The new advertising campaign for the brand, conceived by Creativeland Asia (CLA) is devoid of any wellknown face but has a bunch of young people bathing in several unlikely, improbable parts of the world. There's a good reason for that. "Our consumer research showed shifts in lifestyle and that every individual wants to live life to the fullest. Personal grooming plays a very important role in a person's life, and we found a good opportunity there," explains Sunil Kataria, EVP - marketing & sales, Godrej Consumer Products LtdBSE -1.12 % (GCPL), which owns Cinthol. Launched in 1952, Cinthol was...
