"Education is a basic need and a fundamental right for every human being. I want to change the way my community looks at education, and I will continue to do this until my last breath,” Humaira Bachal expressed. When she was ten years old, she was stunned when her infant cousin died because the mother was illiterate and had not been able to read the expiration date on his medication. As a result, Humaira made it her mission to advocate for girls’ education.
"After I had finished primary school, my father didn't want me to get any education," Humaira recalls. "He said I was only going to get married and have children." Nevertheless, Humaira and her mother made other arrangements. For three years, her mother made different excuses when asked
