A businessman once said, (A business succeed not because it is long established or because it is big , but because there are men and women in it who live it, sleep it, dream it, and build great future plans for it ) Great place to work and best companies to work for lists in the US and abroad re present the most definitive employer of choice and workplace culture quality recognition accompany can receive, and From the 100 best company listed, I would like to choose Marriott International Inc and Navy Federal Credit Union to compare between them regard size, product, vision and mission. First, Marriott international Inc is a global leading loading company based in Bethesda, Maryland, USA with more than 4000 properties and more than 690,000 rooms in 78 countries and territories. Marriott International reported revenues of nearly $13 billion in fiscal year 2013. The company operates and franchises hotels and licenses vacation ownership resorts fewer than 18 brands, including Marriott Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, etc. Marriott has been consistently recognized as a top employer and for its superior business ethics. Secondly, Navy Federal Credit Union is the largest natural member or retail Credit Union in the United State, both in assets size and in membership. As of August 2014 Navy Federal Credit Union had over $6 billion in assets, and over 5 million member and there 11,186 employ working for the company .

Navy Federal Credit Union is non-profit Organization and work based on ownership all members are owner and you can become a member if you are Armed Force, DOD employee, Coast Guard or National Guard. They offer much kind of product and service like saving, checking, credit card, loan and certificate with a better rate. When it comes to Marriott vision ,mission and core business they state in their website ( Our core values makes us who we are , as we change and grow , the belief that are most important to us stay the same , putting people first, pursuing excellence, embraced change, acting with integrity and serving our world ) . Being part of Marriott International means being part of a brand history and a thriving culture, The core values established by Marriott family over 80 years ago have served the company well and will continue to guide the company growth into the future, and for most of these core values is enduring belief that our associate are our greatest assets) . On the other hand , since 1933 Navy Federal Credit Union has grow from seven member to over 5 million member , and since that time Navy Federal Credit Union vision statement has remained focus and serving those member needs and their unique field of membership . Now Navy Federal Credit Union is the most preferred and trusted financial institution serving the military and their families. Every Credit Union is a special in that each one works to provide affordable financial solution and valuable education for member while also helping the local community in meaningful ways, and Navy Federal Credit Union is extra special because it does all of this for some of our nation bravest, most important hard working, dedicated, and giving individual – the military and their families. Navy Federal Credit Union values every member’s service and honors it by offering exceptional low rate, loan discount, and other product and services and special resource that help to make busy military life a bit simpler and them serving those who serve our country. Even those two companies named as a best place to work and they were in the 100 place to work list, still they have to improve based on their employee’s reviews. Unprofessional management, hard to move up and lack of hours are some of the Marriott International employee complains and one of the strategies Marriott HR department could do to support company mission is hiring a professional educated management to mange employee without conflict and also promote employee based on their job performance, all that will courage employee to work hard to get promoted, HR could also great a better hourly system for employee based on their job type and availability Navy Federal Credit Union employee love their work environment and they also love the work place but they have a couple concern like the low pay ,not enough training and lack of communication . For HR department to face those concern could increase the hourly rate to match with other financial institution and employee won’t leave the company and that could reduce training cost, and also HR department should provide enough training for new employee for accurate and efficient job. Building a trust in the work place is a powerful advantage to a company team, but is just a start. A great work place is one where employee not only trust the people they work for but they take pride in what they do , and if both companies follow those recommended strategies they well have a great place to work and a healthy environment. Satisfied employee is the companies’ competitive advantage and the most important thing that HR in both companies should focus on is satisfied employees. Committed and engaged employee who trust their management perform 20% better and 87% less likely to leave an organization resulting in easier revenue and satisfied customer.
