The slides presented in the psychology and human services field appeared to be professional; consequently, all individuals in each slide presented themselves confidently, they seemed dressed for success with modest, clean, and appropriate attire, and looked to be within the boundaries of ethical standards for the field. By looking at the slides, an educated guess would be that each person is professional in action and appearance.
Furthermore, it is a challenge to be sure that each person presented themselves as they should with communication skills, as we can only assume they were appropriate in speech, language, and presentation of information. Next to that she says that knowing your limits in your profession and being willing to seek support from peers is a sign of true professionalism. She said one should also be responsive to those with whom you work and interact. Finally, Nicole says that presenting oneself in a confident and appropriate manner gives the appearance of competence, trust, and ability.
As a professional, I feel it is imperative that I give the people I work with the very best of me every day. I work hard, am dependable to a fault, can be trusted with sensitive information, and am competent in the work that I am engaged. I want my professional image to be one of integrity and for all with whom I associate to know that I hold myself to stringent moral and ethical standards.
Modesty in attire is my motto of sorts. I try to stay away from clothing, jewelry, and fragrance that is distracting to co-workers and clients. Now, it is easy for me to look confident and carry myself with pride; not too many years ago, it was very difficult. I feel that being open to suggestions and willing to work with others toward a common goal is an important step in being professional. It is just as important to be a leader as it is to be a team
