Sororities Research Paper

...What is your opinion on sororities? Do you think that they are treated unfairly? I don’t think so. I know there’s a few stereotypes for certain sororities but those are not made by people that really know anything about them. I know for a fact, some people think that sorority girls are easy to get with, sleep with whatever, they’re all bitchy, all they care about is themselves, and they only hang out with their sisters. Those are some of the stereotypes that we have but none of them are true, I’ve been around them for multiple years and I know plenty of them and enough of them to know that those aren’t true and it’s not fair for them to have people think about them like that. What are some stereotypes that you’ve heard about fraternity guys and sorority girls? I mean I did just touch on sorority girls, people say that they’re bitchy, they’re easy to sleep with, all they do is hang out with all their sisters, and they don’t care about anyone else or support anyone else and obviously none of...

Returing to School

...ENG121: English Composition I (ABC1201G) Instructor:  Allorah Wyman January 24, 2012 Returning to School There are so many reasons on why I returned to school that I don’t even know where to being. Or could it be the fact that I had a hard time when it came to graduating from high school and maybe I’m here to prove my family wrong. Maybe it my kids and wanting a better life for them then I had for myself. Or it could be the fact that I just want to be here. There are many reasons why I should be here. Returning to school was something that took a while for me to decide to do. Mainly because I said that after all I went through to leave high school that I wasn’t going back to school. I had to do night school, summer school, American school that’s where they mail you the work and you mail it back. And even went back to do a half semester the following year. So once I went through all that I said I was done with school. I was happy I did it, but it was all just a little much to be going through for a simple piece of paper. But after years of doing nothing and having a child I knew that I wanted to be something if not for me for her. Growing up I was looking for a role model and for some reason I just couldn’t find it. And then it felt like no time ever seem to be the right time and there was always a reason to put it off until the next time. Then having another child just made me come up with every other reason why I should do it. But still I wasn’t working and trouble...

Police Eli Monologue

...I’m holding my beautiful wife in my arms on the living room floor, I’m running my hand across her short brown hair. Tears are falling down my face. Office Eli is lying on the floor with blood flowing out of his head. There is blood everywhere and all over my black t-shirt. I see cop lights from outside. The cops burst in my house and run to the living room. “John, what happened?” Officer Marks ask. I just keep crying and I hold Veronica’s head against my chest. An hour later they take Veronica into the ambulance. I just sit on the floor crying. “John, I need to take you in for questioning.” Officer Marks says. I get up and walk with him to the cop car. I get in the back and he drives down to the station. I’m sitting in a...

You may ask, 'What is this climate? What are these conditions? Will they exist in the interview with the woman I am about to talk with, whom I have never seen before?' Let me try to describe very briefly what these conditions are as I see them. First of all, one question is, can I be real in the relationship? This has come to have an increasing amount of importance to me over the years. I feel that genuineness is another way of...

That One Story

...the first day of class and I already want to go home. You want to know why? I don’t know either. I just don’t feel like going to class today, but I have to. I went to my first class. And guess what? The teacher was boring me to death. I wished this semester was over because of her. I sighed. Then someone from behind me tapped my shoulders. “Yes?” I said as I turned to look at the person. Oh, a girl. “Sighing on the first day? That’s not good.” Then she smiled. Okay. That was weird. I was like ‘are we close or something?’, though I didn’t tell her that straight to her face. I just laughed. I’m not good with talking to girls, especially those who are prettier or cuter than me, even though I’m a girl too. I get intimidated by them. I’m the kind of girl that’s more comfortable with guys. “Is there someone sitting beside you? Is it okay if I sit there?” “It’s okay, I don’t mind” “Thank you!” and then she sat. We didn’t talk the whole time after she sat beside me. Maybe she doesn’t like me. I didn’t want to talk to her anyway. She seemed like a bitch. I sighed again, and then the teacher dismissed us. I was in a hurry to get out of that room but someone tapped my shoulders, again. And it was her, again. “What’s your next class?” she asked. “Its Business Communication, but I still have a 2-hour break before it starts. What about you?” “That’s my next class too; I think we have the same schedule. Mind if I look at your schedule?” “Sure.” Then I gave it to her. After a few...

Lifelong Learning

...curiosity, I think my strength was learning more about the losing weight options because of the thyroid condition. I’ve had issues with my thyroid all my life and my weight has fluctuated significantly because of it. I was interested to see what was recommended to lose weight. I was really interested in the probiotics and prebiotics and how it affects bodies and health. When it came to the other methods her friends used I became disinterested. That part is where I need improvement. When it comes to stuff that I know nothing about I then start to lose interest and not care. When other methods to lose weight were being discussed like flushing the colon and fecal transplant I didn’t really want to figure out what that was because it sounded disgusting and unhealthy. That discussion was the part I liked the least. When the probiotics were being discussed that seemed more intriguing for me. That was the part that I liked the most. If I’m not fully interested in the subject then my initiative is not there. My strength was at the beginning and my need for improvement is at the end. When I start work, even if I’m not that interested, I work hard to make sure things are detailed and right. As time moves along, I get frustrated and a little bored and slowly start to slack off. By the end of the assignment, there is little work and it’s not detailed that much. I kind of liked doing the research to find out more about the thing that is being researched and if there is more than what it looks...

...Manager’s Hot Seat Case 2: Ethics: Let’s Make a Fourth Quarter Deal The Meeting G: Jason, I have such awesome news for you, I’m so glad you’re here. Betsy said that you are going out of town and I was wondering you know, is he going to be here or not because I have such awesome news. J: Yeah great. G: I have Bestel who is interested in investing 4 million dollars in this company, immediately. All we have to do is sign a few papers and we are done. Now the chairman of the board, do you remember Jack Schneider? Do you remember when he came in? J: I do. G: Ok. So I have known him since I was a kid, he’s almost like an uncle to me. Now he said, basically this is a done deal. Now his shareholders, they don’t get together until 2 weeks after the fourth quarter. But that’s not really a problem because I have talked to him, and worked everything out and done everything that he wanted me to do. J: does he have to get the shareholders to approve the deal? G: Well yeah of course. J: Well how is he going to do that if the quarter ends, he can’t legitimately sign the deal before he gets shareholder approval? G: Ok, well technically I know what you’re saying, but I’m telling you I know this guy. He’s like, like at thanksgiving and when I was growing up we would have picnics together, and he’s given me the OK. He says he’s got these shareholders on his side, and then he’ll have this meeting that’s kind of a technical problem but other than that, he said he will do it so it’s really not a problem...

...own? Tim was 42. A well-liked and respected banker, who made about two million a year. They met one evening, in typical New York fashion, at a gallery opening. Like it? Yes, actually I think it's quite interesting. What? I feel like I know you. Oh, doubtful. I just moved here from London. Really? That's my favorite city. It is? Absolutely. It was love at first sight. You know, I think perhaps I have met you somewhere before. For two weeks they snuggled... went to romantic restaurants... had wonderful sex... and shared the most intimate secrets. One day, he took her to a house he saw in the New York Times. How about if we start at the top? There are four bedrooms upstairs. Do you have any children? Not yet. That day Tim popped the question. Would you like to meet my folks Tues-day night? I'd love to. On Tuesday he called with some bad news. My mother's not feeling very well. Oh, gosh, I'm sorry. Can we take a rain check? Of course. Tell your mum I hope she feels better. When she hadn't heard from him for two weeks, she called. Tim, it's Elizabeth. That's an awfully long rain check. He said he was up to his ears and that he'd call the next day. He never did call... Bastard. She told me one day over coffee. I don't understand. in England, looking at houses together would have meant something. I realized no one had told her about the end of love in Manhattan. Welcome to the ''age of un-innocence''. No one has ''breakfast at Tiffany's'', and no one has ''affairs to remember'' instead...

My Traits

...My Traits I’m kind of like a starburst, I’m hard on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. I am a soft hearted person. I like to help people, I’ve always loved to play sports, and I’m always trying different things. A lot of people in this town know my family and know that we are a positive outlook to the community. So I have stuff to life up to. I’m always trying to help people when they need it. When someone is having trouble walking, loading their groceries into their car, or even if it’s just holding the door open for someone. I’m always trying to do and be a better person. As stated by Boyer, “don’t get beat” is a motto that I refer into my sports life and I never give up. I am always striving to work on new things and finding different and more efficient ways to do things in my sport. In baseball you fail constantly, in the field and at the plate. You need to be baseball smart and stay mentally tough. When I’m being mentally tough I tell myself the motto that Boyer told me, “don’t get beat’. That motivates me to do better in my sport. You can say I am a very outgoing person. I love trying new things in life, If you don’t try new things you will never know what you like and don’t like and there is always a different outcome. Walt Disney once said, “ If We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths”. Curiosity can get you far in life by doing something you...

She’s accusing me of sexual harassment. What had happened, let me just give you some back history first. First of all, my wife and I are having marital problems and during that time we separated and Abby and I, because we have seen each other, because we have liked each other decided, let’s see what can happen. B: How long ago was this? R: This was 6 months ago. Last 2 weeks it has really become stressed and that’s why production is down. And I know that you know these numbers. But the problem being is that she is fighting everything. She doesn’t want to work with me, she doesn’t want to give me a hand with anything, and I’m managing it all on my own. And then she’s threatening me. Now this is in response to another email that I sent her, which she refers to in there. Now here is that email, and let me explain. Right now I’m just saying if you don’t want to get back together with me, and I had wrote her an email saying why don’t we get back together. Well she didn’t respond positively so I said fine, if you’re uncomfortable on our team, I’ll do everything that I can to help facilitate you moving to a different group.
