...Chapter 6- Health Care Marketing 1. According to Buchbinder & Shanks, (2012) marketing is defined as the process of creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, and society as a whole (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2012, p. 96.). The main principles of marketing are to satisfy customers, target the 'right' customers, facilitate exchange relationships, stay ahead of competitors and enhance profitability. These principles are essential for managers to understand and satisfy their customers in the health care industry. The person receiving care must be pleased with the services received from the health care facility, and the health care facility must likewise be satisfied with the financial reward received in the exchange. The hospital that adopts the key components of the marketing concept is likely to identify patients needs, provide products and services at an acceptable price and stress the benefits through promotion. The most important reason to satisfy customers seeking medical service is that they will become repeat customers or users of the facility. Consumers want to feel they are getting the most value for their money, and this includes the health care industry. Therefore, marketing mainly consists of satisfying target customers while striving to seek their loyalty and consumption. 2. In the past, healthcare organization were slow to incorporate marketing because many felt it was an inappropriate and unethical...

...The hierarchy contains six steps starting with a dilemma and ending with a decision. • The first step in the management-research question hierarchy is to determine the management dilemma. The dilemma can be anything from rising costs, declining sales, to defective products. For Penton Media, the management dilemma was a decline in use of their public service reader cards. • The next step in the management-research question hierarchy is the management question. A management question is simply the management dilemma stated in question form (Cooper and Schindler, 2014). In the case of Penton Media, the management question is why is the use of their public service reader cards declining and how to promote increased usage of the cards? The use of the Penton Media’s public service card is declining because as the years progress people are obtaining information through faster means than mail such as email, websites, or telephone numbers. • The third step in the management-research question hierarchy is to produce research questions. Research questions are specific and help determine the different courses of action management can take to solve the management dilemma. Since Penton Media knows people are obtaining information through faster means, some questions that can be researched are, should Penton Media cease using service reader cards and place either an email address or phone number in an ad to acquire additional info? Another question that could be asked is should Penton Media...

...The painting “At the Moulin Rouge” in my eyes is a really interesting work of art. The way Henri-de-Toulouse-Lautrec painted the women’s faces is extremely unique to me. He makes the men’s faces normal (normal skin tones and features) the women’s faces are slightly different from the norm. One women has a green face and slightly different features, the other women’s face is yellow and has longer eyes. Henri-de-Toulouse-Lautrec started painting “At the Moulin Rouge” in 1892 and finished in 1895. The painting portrays a group of three men and two women sitting around an old wooden table. The people in the paintings are Edouard Dujardin, La Macarona, Paul Secau, Maurice Guilbert and May Milton. There are many more famous faces in the painting as well. The painting “At the Moulin Rouge” is oil on canvas. Its dimensions are 123cm x 140 cm. The painting is stored at the Art Institute of Chicago. Henri-de-Toulouse-Lautrec was born on the 24th of November in 1864. He was born in a city called Albi in France. He was a member of an aristocratic family. He had a younger brother that died at a year old. Not being able to deal with the mourning of their late son, his parents soon separated after. When Henri turned eight he went to live with his mother in Paris. His family quickly started noticing his artistic talents when he started drawing sketches in his notebooks. In 1875 Henri-de-Toulouse-Lautrec returned to Albi, France because he started having health problems. Henri’s parents were...

...For me, writing is frustrating. Many times I have trouble writing about anything. The main reason why I have so much trouble when writing, is because I don't concentrate on my work enough. Even when I try my hardest to concentrate, my mind seems to wonder around to a different direction towards another thought. After that, I forget all about my work and just think about various things such as people, places, and different times I've had in the past. For example, even while I'm writing this small paragraph, my mind keeps on slipping into other thoughts. I dont know if this happens to lots of people, but this is one problem that I have trouble the most in. Maybe this is why I'm a slow writer and don't like to write. When I write, I'm usually in my house sitting right where my computer is. One thing about me is that I hate writing anything with a pen and a paper. Most of the time when writing an essay, report, or anything else, I type it on my computer. I can probably type 50 times faster than writing by hand. I guess it's just something that I'm better at. I can type about 80-85 words per minute. If that isn't fast, then I dont know what is. When writing, I can write when it's quiet, loud, during the day, during the night, and during whatever atmosphere I'm in. Even if the whole house is quiet, I usually listen to music while typing an essay. However, the best time and the best atmosphere for me to write anything would be during...

How a large public attraction or large company could affect my business in a positive way is by people always walking by and wanting a coffee so since its right there they will stop in and grab a coffe everyday. In a negitive way it could draw people attention away from my shop, causing them not to see it. ...Obamacare. Obamacare was signed into law on March, 2010. It has been the most significant repair to the United States healthcare since Medicare and Medicaid passed in 1965. In this paper, the key points that will be discussed are obamacare policy, it pros and cons, if it raises any issues with federalism and the policys effectiveness. Obamacare is aimed at helping the underinsured to gain insurance. With this plan everyone would have health insurance regardless of income, or anything that would stop the person from attaining health insurance. The Affordable Care Act is a watershed in U.S. public health policy. Through a series of extensions of, and revisions to, the multiple laws that together comprise the federal legal framework for the U.S. health-care system, the Act established the basic legal protections that until now have been absent: a near-universal guarantee of access to affordable health insurance coverage, from birth through retirement.(Rosenbaum, 2010) Obamacare is a name used by critics of President Obamas efforts to reform health care. Its a common term used to describe the Patient Protection and Affordable care Act of 2010. ObamaCare contains many benefits, especially for low and middle income families and businesses. ObamaCare also contains some obstacles for larger firm that dont insure their employees and certain aspects of the healthcare industry. The Pros and Cons boil down to this, Obamacare the average American has a lot to gain and little to lose...

...Introduction In this assignment I will be taking the role of a HR manager and i will be explaining the different aspects that a selection panel would have to consider when they are recruiting employees. In addition their are a lot of legislations that need to be considered when handling different aspects of the selection proccess and I will be covering some of these legislations. Also the business that I will be talking about in this assignment in Tescos. Job Advert A job advert is the first part of the selection process it is one of the most important parts of the prcess becasue without it a business will not get any applicants. Job adverts help a business to make people aware that they have a job vacancy, also a job advert contains information about the vacancy therefore it will then atract the right people. Furthermore when a business creates job adverts they must try to consider all legislations and ethical issues because if they dont a business can be sued and will have to pay a lot of money. ...Rich Fool I have chosen to write my paper on the parable of the rich fool. This parable is about a rich man that has a abundance of grain. So much grain that he has nowhere to store the overflow. He decides that he is going to knock down the barnes the he currently owns and build bigger and better barnes. After doing this he now has enough space to store all of his extra grains. The rich fool sits back and says to himself I have stored up enough grains to last me for years to come. “But God says to him, You fool! this very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself(NLT Luke 12:20)? The reason that Jesus began to give this parable to the people was based on a quarrel that two brothers were having about land that the little brother wanted to be devided between the two of them. Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me” (NLT Luke 12-13). Based on the parable of the “Rich Fool”, the original audience would have probally understood this as don’t plan for the future due to the fact that tomorrow is not promised. And they may have felt that is was sin or frowned upon by God for man to have and abundance of anything. Jesus uses the opportunity provided to him by the man and his brother to talk about greed and possessions here on earth. Jesus tells the people that if they store up matieral for the future and value those material possession, but do not have a strong, valuable...

...Chick-Fil-A Case Study Isael Cartagena Eastern University This paper was prepared for BUS 300, taught by This case study is about how Chick-fil-A has become an industry leader and in my opinion changed the way we look at fast food. They have found the balance between the financial objectives and the desire to be ethical in business. They are rich with religious values and have no problem showing this. They show this by being closed on Sunday as a way of honoring God and trying to direct their attention to more important things than business. They also show this by having a very extensive corporate giving program. The company has helped thousands of restaurant employees, foster children, and other young people through the WinShape foundation that they established in 1984 to help “shape winners”. They also offer housing, scholarships, summer camps, marriage counseling. Chick-fil-A also has very unique marketing strategies. It’s “Eat Mor Chikin” campaign is one of the longest-running advertising campaigns in the United States. The campaign started with one billboard and since then has grown to clothing, merchandise, tv advertisements, and an annually produced calendars. Chick-fil-A also sponsor collegiate sports with such things As the Chick-fil-A Bowl in college football which also builds its brand. Chick-fil-A has grown since its opening to $3 billion in sales by 2010. It also has grown in size as far as locations with ribbon cutting ceremonies...

I also want to point out some of the better ways to communicate through conversation. This week I waas asked to try a couple of diffrent ways to communicate in conversation, so I chose to go on with multi-tasking, listening, and, going with the flow. First, I want to talk about multi-tasking, I find it hard to do a lot of things at once while trying to have a conversation. I tried to multi-task this week a couple of times to see how it would work out, which I have been doing so unknowingly, but when i did it on perpose i foud that it is very hard. i found it annoying exspecially when i tried typing up a paper for my job and a cowirker began to talk. i thought i was listening pretty well until the conversation was over and she asked me did i get what she said and i had not heard but only 50 words maybe out of 500. i then said it is very rude and disrespectful to the person that you are talking with to be doing all kind of things while trying to pay atention to...

...Don’t Ask Don’t Tell: Repeal or Not Repeal Up to now, the White House has focused on an aggressive effort to socialize our economy through the bailout of the auto industry, institution of the cap-and-trade system, various stimulus and bailout programs, and a takeover of the healthcare sector. (Bedey) Although these topics are still relevant, recently the motion to repeal “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” has become one of the most talked about subjects. Before we get into debate, one must know the basic principles of the policy and its history of origin. “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Don’t Pursue, Don’t Harass” (DADTDPDH or DADT for short) is a ban on lesbians, gays and bisexuals serving in the military. DADT is the only law in the United States that authorizes the firing of an American for being gay. There is no other federal, state, or local law like it. DADT is the only law that punishes lesbians, gays and bisexuals for coming out. Many Americans view DADT as a simple agreement with discretion as the key to job security. While this is true to some extent, in the eyes of a homosexual service member, it may not be so simple. An honest statement of one’s sexual orientation to anyone, anywhere, at anytime will lead to being fired. (Service Members Legal Defense Network) DADT was the result of a failed effort by President Clinton to end the ban on gays in the military. The bill was a result of the brutal 1992 murder of Seaman Allen Shindler. Bill Clinton, a candidate at the time, proposed...
