...Letter of Introduction Hello, my name is Devin Cooper. I am a very out-going and motivated person. I am a bit of a perfectionist, I want everything to go the right way. I can learn just about any skill, within reason. I love to work on anything engineering and cars. I am from a small town in Tennessee called Jamestown. We have nothing for entertainment besides a bowling alley and the woods. The most important thing to me is my friends and family. It is important to have people who have your back. My family is a bit on the crazy side, I live with both my mom and my dad, they have joint custody over me. My moms side of the family is quite normal. But my dads the crazy side. I live with just my dad when I'm with him, When I'm with my mom I live with her, my step-dad, and my sister. But I will probably be living on my own in the next few months, I think I will be going into the automotive industry, but I may also go into welding. Education is a big part of life, without it people wouldn't be able to do anything. School has had a large role in my life, it wasn't an enjoyable part of my life, but I am very grateful for school, I wouldn't have anything to do without it.. I am going to further my education though. I will be going to college for something related to computers, or...

...Technology Based Communication Israel Alberto Berrios Jr. CJS/205 Erin Kirkpatrick 2/22/2016 Technology Based Communication Every day public safety officials make decisions about communications equipment. Public safety communications is rapidly evolving. Police departments are beginning to use more advanced radio technologies that are digital. These radios have larger capabilities and cost a lot less than analog radio equipment. There is a new radio called cognitive radio that is being used to detect and adjust to changing communications constraints in the field. This automatically changes to the frequencies and interfaces needed. "Cognitive radios react to environment for better public safety communications." (National institute of justice, Dec 11, 2012, para. 1) Radios were once built using analog electronic parts and circuits that handled signal processing. Technology has advanced exponentially over the past few decades with a new era of digital technology. Now a days radios have become more like computers. Another important factor in this digital development is the cost. Digital parts and circuits are much less expensive than analog. Analog can mostly do a few tasks, digital can do multiple tasks as defined as its software. This new cognitive radio will assist law enforcers in the field in many ways. It will be programmed to recognize a particular frequency that has been overloaded with traffic and it will automatically find and switch over to an alternative...

...Sandrene D. Garcia BSIP – 2 Juvenile Delinquent Am I a juvenile delinquent? I’m a teenager; I’m young, young at heart and in mind. In this position, I’m carefree. I enjoy doing nothing but to drink the wine of pleasure. I seldom go to school, nobody cares! But instead you can see me roaming around, standing at the nearby street, or else standing beside a jukebox stand playing the nerve-tickling bugaloo. Those are the reasons why people, you, branded me delinquent, a juvenile delinquent. My parents ignored me, my teachers sneered at me, and my friends; they neglected me. One night I asked my mother to teach me how to appreciate the values in life. Would you care what she told me? "Stop bothering me! Can’t you see? I had to dress up for my mahjong session, some other time my child". I turned to my father to console me, but, what a wonderful thing he told me. "Child, here’s 500 bucks, get it and enjoy yourself, go and ask your teachers that question". And in school, I heard nothing but the echoes of the voices of my teachers torturing me with these words. "Why waste your time in studying, you can’t even divide 100 by 5! Go home and plant sweet potatoes". I may have the looks of Audrey Hepburn, the calmly voice of Nathalie Cole. But that’s not what you can see in me. Here’s a young girl who needs counsel to enlighten her way and guidance to strengthen her life into contentment. Honorable judge, friends and teachers…is this the girl whom you commented a juvenile...

...The Media Classmates, I am going to talk about the negative factors the media has on teenagers in the 21st century. I say 21st century because that’s essentially when the media flourished into an “entity”. It influences the lives of billions and enslaves the lives of millions of teenagers. But first we have to ask ourselves, what is the media? It is the main means of mass communication (television, radio, and newspapers) regarded collectively. Nowadays for our generation the media is a vast form of communication that permeates nearly every aspect of modern culture. We depend on the media for information on everything from finding out what the latest gadgets are to looking at the latest fashion trend or finding out what our favourite celebrity is up to. Media’s effects on teenagers are significant. “It almost controls the minds of teenagers like a giant remote control”. “Studies have shown that certain groups of teenagers are prone to act out violently/aggressively because of media influences”. This is because we, as a society glorify negative behaviours. Movies and television programme often show characters using drugs and alcohol and engaging in violent behaviour. At a developmental stage when teens seek greater freedom and independence, the glorification of drugs, alcohol, risky sexual and violent behaviours in the media make it challenging for teens to make responsible behavioural choices. Furthermore according to Ofcom programmes that caused the most concern to parents...

...Women and Group Exercise: Theories From a Male Instructor Eric C. Stevens Coach There are two things that I have never really quite come to understand:People who love to work out first thing in the morning (I am not a morning guy). The fact that many women seem to love to work out together in big groups and classes, with or without the presence of men. I frankly have no idea what makes morning people or women tick. Still, I like to hypothesize and I have developed some theories as it relates to women and group exercise. (Morning people are simply a different breed, so I’ll save the topic for a later date.) Though I have been coaching teaching, training, and writing for years, I have never quite been able to put my finger on the dynamic of the majority of fitness classes being female-based. When I walk past a group exercise studio my mind is filled with a mixture of curiosity as to why it’s filled with so many women, as well as dash of regret for having chosen boxing instead of Zumba. I can tell you that from my estimation the average Zumba participant certainly is softer and gentler than the guys (and gals) hanging around the boxing gym. I’ve decided that surely, in my next life, I’ll be a Zumba instructor and participant. But, I digress. So what is the deal with women and exercise? While many of us guys do some hanging out in a group, perhaps the golf course or maybe a martial arts studio, it seems that more of us are more loners when it comes to our daily exercise...

...other year if I am completely honest about it. There were no resolutions made, no tears or kisses exchanged at midnight on New Year’s Eve, hell I didn’t even go out that night, stayed in and just chilled with my girl and 4 month old son and watched the ball drop in times square with some Imo’s pizza and sparkling apple cider. The events that would ultimately shape the man writing this were already in motion and there was honestly nothing I could do to change or stop them, and honestly even if I could I don’t think I would’ve. I knew that in just 12 days I would be embarking on a journey that was 2 years in the making. I first signed up for the Navy back in 2000 during a time that I honestly can say was a good time for me. I was a junior in high school, working at Red Lobster, had a car, and a level of popularity that I had worked quite hard to attain and would kill to maintain. I decided that the Navy was the best option for me because I knew that I wasn’t really the college type even though I was very smart but I knew I lacked the discipline to truly excel in an environment where no one made you do anything, and partying was as much the norm as pre requisites and electives. So I decided, after seeing a few friends join and have some moderate success that the Navy was going to be my future. Now you have to understand that I was a kid who thought he was fearless and the prospect of military life had always intrigued me in some way, shape, or form as long as I could remember...

External factors would influence controlling; learning and changing with the market competition and the ever changing market. Internal and external factors specifically influence innovation, diversity, and ethics. Apple remains flexible and universal due to producing consumer needed products, products that are a common need and ethically leading the way as a successful company. Apple Inc. formerly Apple Computer, Inc. was founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in 1976. During the first phase of management; the planning process, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak designed the Apple I, a handcrafted computer that was sold for $666.66. For more than twenty years Apple Computer was mostly manufacturing personal computers with their own integrated software called the Macintosh, marketed as Mac. The company suffered low sales and market share during the 1990’s mainly affected by external factors such as the market domination of Bill Gates and his line of computer software Microsoft Windows. In an effort to attract new consumers Apple shifted their philosophy by changing their products into simple designs, which are known for being more “user friendly”. The company had to go back to planning; the first phase of...

...1. Choose either "Where Are You Going?" or "Two Kinds" and explain your reactions to your chosen story. I choose "Two Kinds" over "Where Are You Going". I kept loosing focus while reading "Where Are You Going". I have always had a hard time with reading comprehension, and I really have to engage myself to keep going. "Two Kinds" kept my interest with ease. Neither one of my parents forced me to do anything. Sure, they guided me, but they always gave me choices. They never told me they wanted me to be rich or famous, or to do things they never done. Sometimes, I wish they provided a bit more direction, maybe I wouldn't have to be taking this class so late in life. When watching some of these reality shows like "Toddlers and Tiara's", you can clearly see that the parents are in it for their own gratification. 2. What do you feel is significant about this piece of literature and why? (Discuss possible themes and the author’s intentions.) The theme of this piece is dealing with conflict. It highlights how far some parents go to try to better help their children's future welfare. Ann was very content just being 'normal', but her mother wanted her to by much much more. Maybe it was only for self gratification, or maybe it was truly a sincere hope of her mother than Ann would not have to suffer with the same life challenges she had to. 3. What do you think is the value of the literary piece and the form of literature it is written in? (Why has this story...

...The night I was schedule for a C-section On May 2, 2011 at 5:00am I was schedule to be at the hospital for a C-section with my last daughter, who is now two years old. I was thirty nine weeks and so ready to have this baby. I was having pain and because time was getting near I was very nervous. I hadn’t had a C-section in twelve years. My boyfriend (Dean) of eight years wasn’t home, after trying to call and texts him and receives no answer I ask my oldest daughter (Shaneque) will she go ahead and take me to the hospital. As we were about to leave Dean came home. I knew something wasn’t right when he got out of the car and the front of his pants was wet and he was intoxicated. He ask me where I was going I reply by saying I’m going ahead to the hospital I’m in pain and you are making me stress worst. He said I’m going to take you, which I knew was no way I was getting in the car with him while he was intoxicated and I didn’t want him at the hospital smelling like alcohol. I refused and he got violent my girls were scared and ask him to leave me alone they would take me but he wasn’t hearing that. He continue to try and get me in the car I kind of gave in because the situation wasn’t getting better my kids begin to argue with him and said to me mommy don’t get in that car. I knew trying to be reasonable to someone that has been drinking wasn’t going to be easy and it wasn’t he began to choke me and call me names I only remember falling on the ground and my kids screaming and...

...Abstract College football has become a major money making event. Major college schools can bring in well over one hundred million dollars over a season. In 2008 Texas brought in $120,288,370 for the school that also help fund other sports throughout the university. (Robbins, 2009) This is due to the major network deals, sponsorships, donations from boosters, attending major college bowls, and many other benefits of being a major college program. These programs are expected to compete for a championship each and every year and are expected to fill the seats that normally average between eighty thousand to one hundred thousand seats. In order to do this there is high competition to get the very best players all around the country and the NCAA has very strict guidelines on what colleges can do to persuade the players to come play there. This isn’t a new problem but with modern technology the problem has become very visible because NCAA officials and competing schools are able to trace the exact moves that teams are doing for the players. Also players are being offered money and benefits that seventeen and eighteen year old kids have never seen before in their life. Penalties are becoming harsher every year and coaches and schools are starting to really suffer but what there is a fine line to walk between cheating and just putting your best effort towards getting the player. Process of Investigating Illegal Recruiting The NCAA has broken the process of investigations...

...Religion remains the one of the deepest and holiest concerns of mankind. The birth of Christianity is momentous among all the religions, where the history of mankind before his birth is considered as the preparation for his coming and the history after his death as the diffusion of his spirit and the progress of mankind. Christian history begins with Jesus of Nazareth, a Jew who was born in a small corner of the Roman Empire. Not much is known about his early life but when he was around 30 years old he was baptized by John the Baptist and had visions of being blessed by the Almighty. A group of 12 disciples followed him and spread his teachings of condemning religious hypocrisies and interpreted the Mosaic law in different innovative ways. They believed in the ‘Kingdom of God’, finding their Messiah in Jesus. Within a few years, oppositions built up against Jesus and he was executed by crucifixion in the hands of Romans. Most of Jesus' followers scattered everywhere, dismayed at such an unexpected outcome. Three days later, women who went to anoint his body reported that the tomb was empty and an angel told them Jesus rose from the dead. The disciples, who were initially skeptical, later came to believe the women. They reported that Jesus appeared to them on several occasions and then ascended into heaven before their eyes. Soon the number of followers, in the name of ‘Christians’, grew rapidly. The most instrumental man behind the creation of the church was Paul, a Jew by birth...
