...I Have No Mouth, and I must Scream is a story about a supreme computer essentially designed by humans to fight wars. This, however, backfired on the humans. They had made this computer into an all knowing, all powerful, and all being thing. Something like a god, according to the five humans in the story. This mastermind computer, completely abolished human kind, keeping only five alive for over a hundred years just for its own amusement. AM does sadistic and revengeful things to these five humans. Ted, the narrator of the story, thoroughly describes the events that take place in the story. He tells that the five survivors, including himself, been trapped for over a hundred years. They were kept alive but for all five of them dying would've been a better option. Am kept them alive just to torment them. Throughout the story Ted and the other four humans, Benny, Nimdok, Ellen, and Gorrister decide to travel to some ice caves where they think they'll find something to eat. They go through a lot of hardships in their journey. AM tortures them and for it, it's all just a never ending game. In the end, they all end up killing each other and Ted is the last one alive. AM was furious, however, he couldn’t do anything about it. He couldn’t revive them. This made him take out all his anger on Ted, converting him into a big chunk of jelly. This, it did so that Ted wouldn’t try and kill himself in any way possible. One theme that I found to be relevant in the story is "Desperation...

...reasoning for choosing Gibb’s can be explained by [anon] (2006) ‘Gibb’s reflective cycle is fairly straight forward and encourages a clear description of the situation, analysis of feelings, evaluation of the experience, and analysis to make sense of the experience’. The assignment will also be organised into sections based on the reflective cycle. Pseudonyms will be used to maintain anonymity and confidentiality in accordance with clause five of the NMC (2004). The critical incident which I have chosen is an inappropriate assessment and application of mouth care in a pre-operative patient. ‘Oral assessment is required in planning effective care, and that the incidence of oral complications was reduced by the frequency of care’ Ginsberg (1961) cited by Mallett, J and Dougherty, L (2000 p361). I have chosen this as I found that mouth care is a valuable skill to perform on a NBM patient, and the appropriate assessment will reduce a patient’s discomfort. The managerial concepts I have chosen will appropriately explain my reasoning for implementation of this into practice. A full account of my critical incident can be found in appendix 2. Naylor (2004) cited by Mullins, L (2005) states...

...All of the munching and crunching throughout the day that I hear bothers me to no end. The bite through a chip. The slimy sound of eating crispy pepperoni on pizza. My grandma always taught me to chew with my mouth closed, to chew with care and never talk with my mouth full. This was something I am grateful that my grandma ingrained in me because I know from experience that some people I know never learned this. If I can hear the food in someone’s mouth I have an issue, if I see the food in someone’s mouth I have an even bigger issue, and if they are trying to talk to me while continuing to eat I will find a way to end the conversation with that person as quick as possible, it is my number one pet peeve always has been and always will be. When I picture a classroom with kids testing I see a room filled with silent people, but seven out of ten times there is another factor involved, a person sitting in the back eating either their lunch or snack and in this quiet room all you see can hear or think of is this person eating. My friend Symone, I love her dearly, but whenever she eats lunch she chews with her mouth open and I have to look away or listen music because I cringe so bad. The last person I...

...Some Literal Comic Relief You were getting ready for our night out on the town. I had just come home as you were exiting the shower. I knew we had plans and a tight schedule, and nobody hate being late more than I, but you were naked and squeaky clean. You might have been safe if you had managed to get a bra and panties on before I got home, but there you were, all in your glory and dripping wet. You saw that look in my eyes and quickly grabbed for a towel hoping that it would distract my hunger. You were too late, and back peddling, shaking your head no, with that playful smirk that tells me, maybe. I close the door behind and stalk towards you. You protest with, “we don’t have time, and we’ll be late”. Like always your body was deceiving you, maybe it’s the look I get in my eyes or my sheer determination that turns you...

... As I first read this article I was taken back. The article intrigued me. I had to think really long and hard about what was being done in their culture. While I was thinking about how I perceived this article I started thinking that everything may not be as far out there as I originally thought. So I read the article again with more of an open mind. Even though this article may seem to be odd there are points that I myself see very similar to the way our society does things. Starting with a brief history of how the nation became the way it is, with Notgnishaw cutting down the cherry tree. Even today young children know this idea of cutting down the tree may seem familiar, and it should because George Washington cut the tree down. Miner talks about the need for our bodies to be "perfect" in order to attract friends and mates. He says that the Nacirema "perform a mouth-rite" every day because the mouth is the source of all things good and evil (kissing, talking, eating, decay) this is true everything that we do involves our mouths. He then goes on to talk about our need to stay young. I believe that our society worries too much about how old they look. Our society is always looking for new ways to look younger using face and body creams, masks, surgeries, and so forth. Another thing our society does is we see the medicine man known to us as doctors or specialists. The only difference is that when visiting the hospital, I do not stop to make a payment. Instead, I carry...

...of mouth can be seen as disparate treatment because employers can pass on potential employees. Recruiters have to make sure that they have a balanced workforce; in this case they do not, as they are mainly only hiring Koreans. Although many organizations make extensive use of word-of-mouth recruiting, the compliance manual notes that this technique in a non-diverse workforce is a barrier to equal employment opportunity if it does not create applicant pools that reflect the diversity in the qualified labor market. Thus, caution is needed when over-relying on word-of-mouth recruiting to ensure that it is not creating barriers towards hiring minorities. If they do not want to hire other nationalities other than Korean, then they will need to certify that they are hiring applicants based on the Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications, not race; otherwise this will be a basis for discrimination. They need to get approval from the EEOC for Bona fide occupational qualifications and show proof that the job requirements are correctly identified as validated Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications. 2. I believe that if it was a small company, my decision would remain the same in favour of word of mouth because sometimes companies really benefit from employee referrals. Word-of-mouth referrals often save small companies money on costly advertisements, require minimal effort, and can save them time. However, I do think that it discriminates against those not aware of the vacancy. I also...

...The day was May 30, 2015 at 9:00 pm and I had a mental breakdown, similar to those seen on Toddlers and Tiaras. At that moment, I realized in exactly twelve hours I would have four fewer teeth in my mouth. My heartbeat accelerated with the thought of the surgery, with no rest even as my parents attempted to provide me with comfort. The taste of salt flavored my mouth from the continuous stream of tears that flowed down my face. The only plausible solution, other than having a heart attack, was to cry myself to sleep. Ring! Ring! The fate of my day rested conveniently in my bomb-drill sounding alarm. Getting dressed was the hardest thing to do as my limbs quivered in fright, and my heart palpitations increased as every second passed on. In attempts of calming myself, I logged onto social media as a distraction from the painful process approaching, but there were countless...

...Dental Assisting Are you struggling to find a career that you might like? A question people always ask is, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Most of the time we freeze up and don't have an answer to this question. No One wants to pick the wrong career considering that is going to be what they do everyday for the rest of their lives. There are many excellent careers out there to choose from. You can choose something in the medical field, or a trade such as auto mechanics and cosmetology, or you can be something as serious as an astronaut. Choosing a career is all up to you and what you really enjoy doing. The career I found myself interested in is dental assisting. A dental assistant is the person who assist the dentist with whatever...

You unbutton your blouse as it falls open to expose you beautiful breast slightly covered in a lacey piece. ...and Mexico in the continent of North America. These tribes have very interesting rituals involving their bodies and how to care for it. They see the human body as very ugly in its natural form and if left alone will eventually disease and can lead to the person dying. In an effort to mitigate this occurrence, they have developed very interesting rituals. I will primarily focus on the ritual ceremonies of the mouth. The Nacirema have what seems to be an unnatural fascination with the mouth. The mouth, they believe possess supernatural powers that have the ability to bring them friends or drive away friends and lovers. They believe if they do not go to the holy-mouth man to perform these sadistic rituals, their teeth will all fall off, their jaws will shrink, their gums will bleed and they will be rejected by friends and lovers. They believe in the mouth-rites so much that they eagerly follow all the rules prescribed to them by the holy-mouth man. Even though they follow all the rules, it is still not a guarantee that their teeth will not fall off or their gums will not bleed. Some of the daily rituals concerning the mouth involves inserting a small bundle of hog hairs into the mouth along with certain magical powders and then moving the bundle in a formalized series of gestures. In addition to the daily rituals, the people also seek out the holy-mouth men twice a year for a checkup to ensure that the mouth has not diseased. Some of these rituals appear very painful...

...Okay guys this is the official first chapter of Hardly Homeless, I'm so excited for this story. This is the only smut/trigger warning you're gonna get. Please avoid if sensitive to abuse, smut and triggers I don't want anyone getting hurt. Feel free to message me anything at anytime I'd love to communicate with you guys. Troyes POV I could hear the mans feet hit the pavement as he moved in front of the building I was behind. I knew hiding was pointless but I continued to sit under my tattered blanket with my legs crossed. I was trying to stay away from Marcus as long as possible. I shivered as I felt a breeze coming through the thin material of my small blanket. I'd found the blanket out on the street almost six years ago the day before I turned ten. When I had found it the blanket it had been flying away in the cool breeze that had washed over the city. I had decided chase after it so I could finally have a source of warmth that wasn't my body heat. The small pink blanket had almost escaped my grasp but I grabbed the frayed edge of it before it could....

This paper will explain how Ms. M. addresses a situation created using Canter’s Behavior Management Cycle. This particular student often has difficulty transitioning and following directions. Explicit Directions Ms. M. stands in the front of her line and signals for her class to quiet their voices by placing her hand in the air in the peace symbol, this is a signal students are familiar with and have practiced from day one of school. She now has the class’ attention and she is now ready to give her students their first direction of the day. “Yesterday my class had a very difficult time getting in line and ready to walk to our classroom,” she begins to explain. “I know that you are capable of following directions because you have shown me many times before,” Ms. M. informs her class. She continues, “Today everyone is going to listen to my directions and follow them when I give the signal,” Ms. M. tells her class. Once she notices she has her class’ attention...

...ASSIGNMENT I was never aware of the multitude of connections between the rest of the body and the oral cavity (Tatomir, 2017). I am surprised by how this connection influences the organs, systems, and diseases. What surprised me and why: For the past ten years, I have been inconsistently plagued by gingivitis, sprains, and sometimes small sores next to my tongue and in my oral cavity. I connected it to our daily meat diet and not so often greens. Later, we reduced the meat and ate more fish and poultry, depending on the price. I would rinse my mouth with salt water to see if it would not get better. With it came the terrible bloatedness, an unquenchable thirst, and burning feet, and my tongue was feeling thick and...
