...after Jobs' death last October. More recently, Apple observers pegged Forstall, 43, as the next in line behind Cook. Along with marketing chief Phil Schiller and design guru Jonathan Ive, Forstall anchored the company's top tier of executives, frequently speaking at Apple's heralded product unveilings to showcase the ins and outs of operating-system upgrades. Many felt he was the most logical choice to continue Jobs' legacy of innovation at Apple, where 70% of revenue now comes from the mobile devices that iOS powers. "He was as close to Steve as anybody at the company," Andy Miller, former head of Apple's iAd group, told Businessweek last year. "When he says stuff, people listen." The Apple press release did not say what Forstall plans to do when he leaves the company. Apple did not immediately respond to a message seeking further details. The release Monday came as Wall Street was virtually shut down in advance of Hurricane Sandy, and more than a million customers along the East Coast were already without power because of the storm's onslaught. John Browett, Apple's head of retail, is also leaving, according to the release. The company is launching a search for his replacement, whereas it appears Forstall's duties will be divvied up for now among other Apple heavy hitters. Ive, Bob Mansfield, Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi "will add more responsibilities to their roles," according to the announcement. Cue, the senior vice president for Internet software and services, will take...

...before the rather divisive decision was made to cast the former ‘Daredevil’ actor as Bruce Wayne it was widely speculated that Zack Snyder was hounding Christian Bale to reprise his role for ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’. It’s now been revealed that rumour was only half true, because Snyder has confessed that he wanted Bale in the ‘Man Of Steel’ sequel, but in a completely different role to Batman. Snyder admitted to Film Ink that this would have been the ultimate proof that ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ was in a completely different universe and reality to ‘Batman Begins’, ‘The Dark Knight’, and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. “This is a total and opposite reality from the Chris Nolan movies,” Zack Snyder remarked. “It’s another universe, so we couldn’t hire Christian Bale if we wanted to, because he doesn’t exist in our world. Maybe we could hire him to play another part. We did talk about that briefly. I just wanted to hire Christian to play another part to make that obvious.” Zack Snyder then joked that Bale could have been plastered with make-up and then portrayed Alfred Pennyworth, a role that Jeremy Irons has in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of...

...The first I have to do is to finish this school. After it there I would like to study The University of Economics or Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University. Rather I would like to study the University of Economics, because after finishing it I would have two qualifications, computer specialist and engineer of economy. The second school is very good too, because I would have a complex overview in computers. During the studies I would like to join some exchange program for students and study few months abroad. It would be absolutely perfect, because of get some experience with foreign circumstances. Next aim I would like to achieve is to learn fluently French and German. It’s necessary, because we are surrounded by German speaking countries and the official language in the European Union is the French. My school selection has another advantage. After reach some experience skills in the computer world I could certify my knowledge by Microsoft certificating program. The test and certificate are world reputable, which could be very useful in the future job. During the studies, there is a possibility to work for a company connected with school, where I could get some experience as a practice. If I found some good practice during my studies I would try to lunch out on my own. I would try to find a flat and live my own life. I have to prove to everybody, especially to my family, that I am able to see after myself. After the school I would like to find...

...Professional Module 1 Exercise 1 I am pursuing at degree at ITT Tech because I need a career change. I have been in the restaurant industry for most of my life. I love the restaurant business, but it is very hard on my life and the schedule that I have to work does not allow me to spend much time with my daughter or socialize with others. In addition, the IT field is one that will always be in demand and offers almost unlimited growth potential. Two goals that I have set for myself are to lose 20-30 pounds in the next 3 months with exercise and diet, and to explore new and different techniques to help with my bi-polar condition. I have chosen these two goals for different reasons. My first goal deals with my overall physical health, which will also carry over to my mental health. I would like to lead a more active lifestyle, similar to what I have in the past when I was younger, which at this time I am not physically able to do. I have been advised by my doctor that I need to lower my cholesterol, so eating healthier will help accomplish this. In turn, by altering my physical health, this will have a great impact on my self-perception and help to change way of thinking. My second goal deals with bi-polar condition. It is something that I have struggled with all my life and has affected all aspects of my life. It has made it difficult for me to communicate my thoughts and feelings in appropriate ways. Two things that I would like to explore are meditation...

...Jason, I have such awesome news for you, I’m so glad you’re here. Betsy said that you are going out of town and I was wondering you know, is he going to be here or not because I have such awesome news. J: Yeah great. G: I have Bestel who is interested in investing 4 million dollars in this company, immediately. All we have to do is sign a few papers and we are done. Now the chairman of the board, do you remember Jack Schneider? Do you remember when he came in? J: I do. G: Ok. So I have known him since I was a kid, he’s almost like an uncle to me. Now he said, basically this is a done deal. Now his shareholders, they don’t get together until 2 weeks after the fourth quarter. But that’s not really a problem because I have talked to him, and worked everything out and done everything that he wanted me to do. J: does he have to get the shareholders to approve the deal? G: Well yeah of course. J: Well how is he going to do that if the quarter ends, he can’t legitimately sign the deal before he gets shareholder approval? G: Ok, well technically I know what you’re saying, but I’m telling you I know this guy. He’s like, like at thanksgiving and when I was growing up we would have picnics together, and he’s given me the OK. He says he’s got these shareholders on his side, and then he’ll have this meeting that’s kind of a technical problem but other than that, he said he will do it so it’s really not a problem. J: So if he does that though, are we authorized to go ahead and make this deal...

...2.3 ann hall 2016 2016 Do one thing at a time #16 Doing one thing at a time is not a very good skill for me. On a scale from one to ten and one being the worst I would have to say that I am at a two. For me that means I have no clue what that even means any more now that I have children. I have three children, go to school and work two jobs. Don’t get me wrong I would love to be able to only do one thing at a time but it seems to be impossible with what all I have to deal with and do in a days’ time. With that being said if I ever wanted to do one thing at a time I would have to learn how to do it all over again and get out of the mindset that I need to get everything done and get it done right away. I am willing to try to learn it all over again but chances are I will have to practice when the kids are not home so I do not get distracted. The other thing is I need to not watch tv when I am doing other tasks or even doing homework. This would be the biggest problem for me is always having the tv on where ever I am at. * Switching between tasks takes time even if we are not aware that it does and what our minds are required to do (page 75). It also says in some cases multitasking can be very dangerous (page 76). Chances are you can and will get more done and be safer if you just focus on one task at a time (page 76). It says in the book it would be a very good skill for me to learn if I have small children (page 76) which I do have one small child. She is a one...

...of the factors of being a student are stressful. I have kids so that is a stressor, making Time for them and getting time away from them to do my school work. I also work full time, So of course there is the stress of will I have enough time to do a proficient job on my Homework. All of these things make for a very stressful day to day life for myself or any Other person who is in school and juggling kids and a job. This week's reading was very Insightful with all of the studies done to learn emotions and happiness, etc. It shows, one Cannot always judge a book by its cover (so to speak) for example, I am a very moderate extrovert according to the test. Because of this I like to keep to myself, I do not like to interact with others unless I have to. I find it extremely hard to trust anyone. It sounds like a bad thing, but my situation, it is not I am able to accomplish much more than most people because I keep to myself and do not go out of my way to socialize at work. I have earned many compliments on my work from bosses because I do such a great job. However, this can also be stressful for me since I don't socialize I have my thoughts to myself and they always tend to wander in what ifs. My Holmes and Rahe self-assessment was as follows: Score for openness was low, at 55%. Openness describes a person’s tendency to think in abstract, complex ways. I focus more on practical, straightforward things. Those who are low in this score tend to be more of the following: Practical...

...philosophical dia- logues, and founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the western world. Plato is widely believed to have been a student of Socrates and to have been deeply influenced by his teacher's unjust death. Plato's brilliance as a writer and thinker can be witnessed by reading his Socratic dialogues. Some of the dialogues, let- ters, and other works that are ascribed to him are considered spurious. Plato is thought to have lectured at the Academy, although the pedago- gical function of his dialogues, if any, is not known with certainty. They have historically been used to teach philosophy, logic, rhetoric, mathem- atics, and other subjects about which he wrote. ...Questions Tell me about yourself. This is really more of a request than a question. But these few words can put you on the spot in a way no question can. Many quickly lose control of the interview during the most critical time- the first five minutes. This is not the time to go into a lengthy history or wander off in different directions. Your response should be focused and purposeful. Communicate a pattern of interests and skills that relate to the position in question. Consider your response to this question as a commercial that sells your autobiography. Provide an answer that includes information about where you grew up, where you went to school, your initial work experience, additional education and special training, where you are now, and what you intend to do next. One of the most effective ways to prepare for this question is to develop a 60-second biographic sketch that emphasizes a pattern of interests, skills, and accomplishments. Focus your response around a common theme related to your major interests and skills. Take, for example, the following response, which emphasizes computers. "I was born in Canton, Ohio and attended Lincoln High School. Ever since I was a teenager, I tinkered with computers. It was my hobby, my passion, and my way of learning. Like most kids I enjoyed computer games. When my folks gave me a computer as a reward for making honor roll my sophomore year, I mastered DOS, Windows, and WordPerfect within six months. I then went on to teach myself programming...
