This is only named Jedi so I can really talk about star wars. I really love star wars like really bad and I cannot wait until the new movie comes out in December. Since they first made the first Star Wars the technology was great for that time but it has gotten a lot better so this time around the technology in this will be better. I loved that they started backwards in will make the first few better than last and maybe they will redo the first few. It crazy that they started with the middle and now they are doing the first three but it keeps you waiting so it works. I have been watching Star Wars since I could remember. My dad loves those movies at well so he had me watch them with. If you like star trek you will like Star Wars but you CANNOT

Star Wars a New Hope Based on Christianity

...Star wars is a mighty film in this industry that has overcome many obstacles throughout history. One of the main issues that has come up time and time again would be the issue of World View. George Lucas the director and creator of the movie Star Wars a New Hope, is constantly questioned if he put religion into the mix when he created the movie. Lucas has claimed “That the Force is not an alternative religious option, and certainly not the religious option, but is instead little more than a plot device to allow certain aspects of the fantasy to develop,” as stated from bethinking’s article on the force. As people watch the movie, are there any hidden messages that could be found guiding one's world view? Some say Buddhism is very prevalent while others point out the many parallels Christianity has with the creation of the Force. Analyzing both viewpoints, Christianity has more examples and support, as the worldview over Star Wars a New Hope. The Force is a religion that is created in the movie that Lucas molds from major religions including Christianity. For example the movie molds Christian sayings like “May God be with you” to “May the Force be with you” as pointed out from John McDowell in his article for Bethinking. They also treated the force like it was the almighty comforting grace. Just as if Jesus is the rock that all Christians stand on. The force has also come to have a good side and a dark side. We can easily view that as a representation of our entire religion...

Where Star Wars Episode Ii Went Wrong

...So, I’m going to have to do to this one what I did to the first one, and again, I fully acknowledge the Plinkett reviews as a source for me to draw from. The big difference here is that while I was more than willing to give a little leeway to The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones gets no such love. Plain and simple: this movie was terrible. The Direction First and foremost, we need to remember one big thing about the first 3 movies: only one was directed by George Lucas. The other 2 were done by directors Lucas respected (Kershner and Marquand). These movies are 100% Lucas and, in the case of Clones, he elected to direct a movie that was nearly entirely filmed against a green screen. This allowed him to do filming of characters against a blank canvas while allowing him to basically design whatever world he wanted around them. Green screens had long been used for special effects and matte fills, but hadn’t been used this heavily at this time. While Episode II wasn’t a full “digital backlot” film, there were tons and tons of shots that had actors doing their thing with nothing around them but green cloth. The upside here is that digital backlots can save a lot of money in film production since you don’t have to build sets that are either very complicated (aka “expensive”) or utterly impossible. The downside is that if your director isn’t, you know… an actor’s director, the actors all end up like they’re acting in front of a bunch of green cloth because they have nothing...

...individual as am I. No matter what movie she was in she put her education first. She also plays very active roles in FINCA International, which promotes micro-lending to help small businesses in developing countries. She advocates for animal rights and is a very strong supporter for the Democratic party and campaigned for President Barack Obama. She has launched her own line of footwear and has been a vegetarian since she was young. She shows me that no matter what you have going on in your life you can make time for your education and support what you believe in. She faced many obstacles, mainly from her demanding acting career. When she moved into the dorms at Harvard many people expected her to do be in the upcoming prequels to Star Wars but in an interview in 1999 she stated she would not act for the next four years to concentrate on her schoolwork. So she could study for her final exams in high school she skipped the premiere of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Amidst her acting career she graduated top honors in high school and pursued a degree in Psychology at Harvard College. Even though acting make her money she made sure to schedule any movies she did around her education. Natalie told the New York Post, “I don’t care if college ruins my career, I would rather be smart than a movie star.” Natalie Portman obviously values her education more her movie career. I haven’t found a lot of articles that exactly explain what motivated her but I personally believe...

Sith vs Jedi

...Stan Banas English 101 2/1/2016 Sith vs. Jedi Throughout history we have bared witness to many epic battles. Whether they are between nations, people or corporations there have always been great rivalries in our past and will be many more on through our future. Each contestant always has its own advantages over the other as well as the people or organizational backing them. Very commonly the supporters feel very strongly about which side they have chosen and will go to great lengths to support their claim. In the infinite battle between the Jedi order and the Sith, we face this age old dilemma of: “Who is better?” Within the Star Wars universe, Sith vs. Jedi is also often referred to as the light side vs. the dark side of the force. Nowhere in its history is one labeled as good or evil. Since the ancient Rakatan, the original users of the dark side around 30,000 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), the dark side was just another aspect of the force. Although in our traditional standards of good and evil, where the Jedi are known as keepers of the peace and justice, and the Sith are known to seek out galactic domination and harness there power through raw emotions such as anger, hatred, and greed, it can be argued that neither one is good or evil, and in fact each aspect are both, in fact, good and evil. The Sith were formed out of necessity from infighting within the ranks of the users of the dark side of the force. Darth Bane, around the year 1,000BBY, developed the “rule...

...impacts our day to day life. First I will discuss why I believe the internet and other technologies have improved the quality and production of movies. With today’s internet producers and film writers can simply go on to a blog about a movie idea, see what some fans believe would make a film good or bad, and use some ideas to ensure they can reach out to the audience and deliver the best product possible. The improvement of technology has greatly improved the quality of movies, for instance the continual progress of CGI alone can allow a producer to make the most impossible things become a reality for a movie. For a good example I will simply use the Mission Impossible Film franchise, when the first film was produced in 1996 CGI had not come as far along as it is in the most recent installation Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal (2011). The best example of this would be the scene where Tom Cruise climbs the Burj Dubai, clearly this is a scene where in real life no one would ever attempt, the sticky gloves which he wears gives him the ability to stick to the side of the building. He then goes on to run along the side of the building holding on to what appears to be a thick cable wire, once he gets going fast enough he jumps a long distance into a window where he nearly falls to his death until he is grabbed by Jeremy Renners character. The effects used in this film are far above that of the ones used in the original Mission Impossible. I believe the improvement of technology...

Analysis of the Force

...An Analysis of the Force By Anna Yellis In 1977, Star Wars was released. It became one of the most prominent movies in the twentieth century. It created the Force, and expressed a new set of ideas. While many came to believe that in Star Wars, the Force resembled God, it really did not. Many also thought that the Force was based on the twentieth century worldview, once again, it did not. Through analyzing the Force with the twentieth century and the Biblical worldview, it is clear that the Force has no resemblance to God and that its worldview is not part of the twentieth century or the Biblical worldview. Master Jedi Obi Won Kenobi first introduces the Force as he sits in his desert hut. Obi Won explains to Luke Skywalker the nature of the Force. He states, “The Force is what gives the Jedi his power. It is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, it binds the galaxy together.” The Force was an energy field that connected all living things in the galaxy. The power of the Force could be used by individuals who were sensitive to it. The Force gives powers to those who weld it, the Jedi and the Sith. The two main practitioners of the Force's power were the Jedi Order and the Sith. Usage of the Force granted a number of convenient powers, such as the ability to sense impending attacks; to push and lift physical objects; influence the thoughts of others, known as the "Jedi mind trick;” and even see the future or maintain one's...

Star Wars Persuassive Essay

...Star Wars, a legacy that has been around since 1977. Star Wars truly stood the test of time in many ways: a wide fan base, well written story, and a lot of content. The fan base for Star Wars is rampant with the amount of people that adore Star Wars. The fan base starts with the older generation which is the group that saw the first three movies (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi) which are called the sequels. George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, knew how to draw people in by the story. The most noticeable things about Star Wars is the opening crawl text, the film scores, and Darth Vader’s voice/ breathing. Then to the second generation of Star Wars fans which were around during the prequels (The Phantom Menace, The Clone Wars, and Revenge of the Sith). The Phantom Menace came out in 1999. These movies had a lot of CGI (Computer Generated Images). It advanced technology because they did what some people couldn’t in film making. The older generation was still around when these came out and were still hyped about more Star Wars and the origin of some of the characters stories. Now we have new movies with Disney buying LucasFilm. These will affect the third generation. The only movie we know of continuing from Return of the Jedi is The Force Awakens which comes out in less than a month. Just from the trailers it shows a very well written story. People bought movies theaters out in less than a day when they were able to be purchased. It’s rare for that...

Letter from Gatsby

... Oxford, England February 2, 1918 Dear Daisy, my darling! Last night, I couldn’t sleep and stood outside the soldier crew tent staring intently at the infinite flickering stars, holding in my hand the letter telling that you are going to marry Tom Buchanan. For a moment, I was stunned. I can’t believe that it’s true, but my dear, I understand why you may doubt my love for you. It was such a long time ago that we were last together. Because I had to leave for the World War 1 in 1917 and operated so many places, we lost contact with each other. You may think that I forget you, but my love, every minute we have been apart, I have felt like an incomplete man; I miss you so much. No words can express how much I love you. I think of you day and night, night and day, even in my dream I still see you. Every night, I star at the star and imagine that you’re here with me, dreaming of our future that is as bright as those stars. But last night, those stars seem vague as the tears blur my eyes. I though that everything was going perfectly between us, and no one could get in between you and me, but Tom has ruined everything in a hurry. I believe that your family has forced you to marry him for his money, but true love means more than some lousy money. Nothing can compare to our love. Money can’t bring you true happiness; it only lasts for a while and I think you know that. Daisy, you are the only one for me, and I can’t afford to lose you so easily. Please don’t make mistake that can affect...
