In the growing field of STEM today, each nation is preparing its youth to aid its economy. The US is lagging behind because of the international PISA test in 2013. We remained average in math, but dropped in science and reading. However, a math and science institution gives more importance to STEM than other average high schools; therefore, IMSA will assist me in looking at education differently because of its conceptual learning, and because of its student-based research on Wednesdays. As a matter of fact, a math and science academy will also increase my odds of getting accepted into a prestigious college. When I glanced at the course catalog for the previous school year, IMSA stunned me because compared to my high school, IMSA possessed far more advanced courses. …show more content…
I am discovering how to fill out an application even before gaining entrance to IMSA; this shows that a math and science academy will be a sound choice. Critics retort that IMSA does not impart AP courses, but their teachings are so sophisticated, pupils receive exemplary AP exam scores without AP classes. In addition, IMSA is presumably the sole public school that boasts a robust food menu. My vision is to pursue a medical career, particularly in neurology. When a patient is escorted in, he could be fully paralyzed, but after a grueling procedure, he traipses out of the operating theater shaking your hand. Satisfying a patient by granting him a normal life cannot be compared to anything else; this contentment is supreme. However, it takes a minimum of 16 years to become a certified neurosurgeon, which is a plethora of studying. An ordinary senior high cannot prepare me for this intense studying.
