Sci Week 7 Ilab

...Toddler’s Age 2-3 Lifecycle Do we even remember things at a toddler’s age? There may be people who remember clearly when they were that age. The lifecycle age of a toddler is from two to three or one to three depending on our preferences. According to the book Essentials of Nutrition: A Functional Approach, “By the age of two, children have advanced from infancy and are on their way to becoming school-aged children, their physical growth an motor development slows compared to the progress they made as infants. Toddlers experience enormous intellectual, emotional, and social changes. During this phase of human development, toddlers are mobile and grow more slowly than infants, but are much more active. The toddlers pose interesting challenges for parents or other caregivers, as they learn how to eat on their own and begin to develop personal preferences.” (Zimmerman & Snow, 2013) The problems we face when feeding our little ones food and nutrition is challenging. We have to introduce new foods to them, while facing or helping our toddler overcome a fear of new foods. As parents we must make sure our toddlers have nutritious choices at every meal. If our child is stubborn or is a picky eater, that is normal because toddlers often experience a decrease in appetite. A poor appetite can mean not feeling well, tired or excited at meal time, or experiencing a slower growth rate. We have to put our foot down as parents when wanting our picky toddler to eat. We should limit snacks...

We’ll be exploring the world of statistics from a business perspective this week, allowing you to practice your skills with descriptive statistics, formatting, graphs, and regression analysis. As discussed in the lesson, the value of statistics lies in the ability to analyze data more effectively for the purpose of improving decision making. You might have heard the expression that “statistics never lie, and only liars use statistics”. There is an obvious truth in this statement, in that, depending on the questions being asked and the data collected, the statistics can skew reality. For example, it is true that as ice cream sales increase, accidents at swimming pools increase. Does this mean that the more ice cream that is sold, the more accidents it causes (correlation/causation)? Of course not, but the data, if not interpreted correctly, could lead to false conclusions. It just so happens that both are correlated to a rise in temperature in the summertime. The hotter it is outside, the more kids flock to swimming pools, leading to more accidents, and the more ice cream is sold. So you see, although statistics are vital in the world of decision making, you have to be wise, and ask the right questions. Software...

Netw250W1Ilab

...NETW250 Week 1 iLab How Is the PSTN Used Today? In the lecture for this week, we discussed the history of the PSTN. In this week’s iLab, let’s examine the PSTN in a bit more detail, because it will not be going away anytime soon despite the increasing use of cellular telephones and VoIP. Keep in mind that at some point, cellular calls and VoIP traffic cross this same old PSTN. Data traffic from large organizations must continue to use landlines, because wireless connections do not have the capacity or the reliability for this. As the lecture points out, in 1984, the Bell system was broken up into parts. Today, many of these pieces have been reassembled into larger organizations. In its present form, AT&T provides service to about one half of the United States. In this iLab, you will examine the landline-based data services AT&T can provide to a large business today. To do this, go to the AT&T website at www.att.com. Websites change over time, but the AT&T website will have a listing for these services somewhere on the home page. Right now, from the AT&T home page, select the menu item that says Business. Under it, select the menu item that says Enterprise Business. On this page, look for Network Services. The Network Service page will show all of the services that AT&T can provide to a large business to connect their sites to each other, to other organizations, and to their customers. Thinking back to the basic networking courses you have taken,...
