... Research design can be divided into two groups: exploratory and conclusive. IMPORTANT OF CONCEPT IN NURSING Research is important to the nursing profession. It provides new knowledge, improve health care, and challenge current nursing practice with new ideas. The understanding of the different research design assist nursing in selecting the best design to answer a research question or test a hypothesis that provide enough evidence for change. Nursing presents a vast range of questions which straddle both the major paradigms, and it has therefore embraced an eclectic range of research designs and begun to explore the value of critical approaches and feminist methods in its research. The current nursing literature contains a wide spectrum of research designs exemplified in this issue, ranging from randomised controlled trials,and cohort studies, at the scientific end of the spectrum, through to grounded theory, ethnography,and phenomenology at the interpretist/naturalistic end.Future issues of this journal will explore these designs in depth. IMPORTANT OF CONCEPT IN CURRENT WORLD Well-conducted research is vital to the success of global heath...

...lifecycle are service design, service strategy, service operation, service transition, and service improvement. In this project, main function of the ITIL framework addresses how Aplestia’s IT as a whole should be operated. The project management aspect addresses how single projects within the Aplestia should be executed. PRINCE 2 (Projects IN Controlled Environments) PRINCE 2 is a kind of an industry standard used extensively in the whole world. It Is known as project management technique designed to offer a framework covering the wide variety of activities and disciplines needed within a project. In this project, PRINCE 2 is focused on Aplestia ‘s case, which shows the rationale and business justification for this project. This is a process-based technique where the structure includes 5 phases as well as 8 high level processes. One of the merits of PRINCE 2, is that it can be applied to any size of set up or any type of project. One of the key shortcomings of PRINCE 2 is that it does not provide and cover for any support of the project of project procurement management and human resource management. PRINCE2 is arranged into eight processes as shown below: 1. Starting Up a Project (SU) 2. Planning (PL) 3. Initiating a Project (IP) 4. Directing a Project (DP) 5. Controlling a Stage (CS) 6. Managing Product Delivery (MP) 7. Managing Stage Boundaries (SB) 8. Closing a Project (CP) ITIL Integration In...

This seminar on ”Blue eyes” technology presented successfully by him towards partial fulfillment of 4 year B.Tech in Computer science and Engineering of Synergy Institute of Engineering and Technology,Dhenkanal under Biju Pattanaik University of Technology. Er.Siddharth Dash (Seminar Guide) Dr.C.Dash H.O.D Dept.of C.S.E ABSTRACT Is it possible to create a computer which can interact with us as we interact each other? For example imagine in a fine morning you walk on to your computer room and switch on your computer, and then it tells you “Hey friend, good morning you seem to be a bad mood today. And then it opens your mail box and shows you some of the mails and tries to cheer you. It seems to be a fiction, but it will be the life lead by “BLUE EYES” in the very near future. The basic idea behind this technology is to give the computer the human power. We all have some perceptual abilities. That is we can understand each others feelings. For example we can understand ones emotional state by analyzing his...

...is conducive and how we will get our mapped-out target to use our services. For purpose of analysing the business environment, PESTEL and SWOT analysis was used and the focus was basically on the telecommunication industry. PESTEL demonstrated that the environment is conducive for our company and products though there are a couple social unrests such as bombing but the Nigerian government is doing all it can to stop the situation. Nigeria is a developing country and so to continue to increase the rate of development, the government has removed all stringent restrictions on foreign direct investment. International companies can now own and invest in businesses in the country but with the help of an accredited agent in the Country. The process of licencing, registration and incorporation is now easier and flexible. The country’s population is 161 million and is forecasted to grow at 2.553% per annum and the telecommunication industry has entered the maturity stage where the highest profit can be made. These are opportunities for our company to invest though the competition in the industry is high. There is high rate of innovation and retaliation amongst the top four GSM service providers in the market but the quality of call and internet services offered is bad and customers are complaining and considering joining the CDMA service providers like VISAFONE. We have identified this gap and seek to bridge it by giving quality service to the Nigerian people and benefit ourselves by...

...Sustainability Issues In Civil Engineering Environmental Sciences Essay ukessays.com /essays/environmental-sciences/sustainability-issues-in-civil-engineeringenvironmental-sciences-essay.php Sustainability is the prevention or reduction of the effect of environmental issues for humans to live a sustainable life and as part of the effort is to return human use of natural resources to a sustainable limit at which it can be replenished. The fact that sustainability issues affect the ways in which project are been chosen, planed, designed or implemented does not mean human life should be stagnant, rather, according to Mahri (2001), environmental issues needs to be put into consideration as a principal means of achieving sustainable development, also sustainable development enhances the quality of life This report shall put lights on a critical evaluation on current academic thinking as regards how sustainability issues can affect the way civil engineering projects are chosen, planned, designed and implemented. CHOSEN PROJECTS AND SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES Civil Engineering is the construction of systems that aim to improve life in different ways (Tavares, 1999). These are engineering field that brought about bridges, dams, roads, buildings, fabrications, etc. and these constructions have either a direct or indirect ways of polluting the environment during their construction processes. Like in the construction/fabrication of buoys, piles, vessels, where blasting and painting are carried...

...Critically evaluate the usefulness of definitions of Human Resource Management in understanding the Hospitality Industry Human Resource Management (HRM) has been placed, at least in terms of prescriptive theory, above all the other primary activities of a business and the importance of HRM to businesses in general has been argued to be central and fundamental in order to better enable their business activities and for the fulfilment of their business objectives. In discussing the Resources, Competences and Strategic Capability of Businesses, Johnson and Scholes (1997, Ch 4, p147), say of HRM - “This is a particularly important area which transcends all primary activities. It is concerned with those activities involved in recruiting, managing, training, developing and rewarding people within the organisation”. Others have found evidence that HRM practices can significantly improve a firms performance and for example Dessler (2000 p18) cites research which claims as much as 30% differences (improvements) in financial performance which were attributed to differences in HR practices in banks. He continues to note a study (p 19) which identifies that in 97 metalwork manufacturing plants “Similar evidence of the HR-Performance link has been found”. Elsewhere, as Redman and Wilkinson, Editors (2001 Ch 1, p10) point out, Strategic Human Resource management (SHRM) theory holds that “an organisation’s human resource assets are potentially the sole source of sustainable competitive...

...First, we need to ask what performance appraisals are. They are “The identification, measurement and management of human performances within an organization.” (GOMEZ-MEJIA, 2010) Performace appraisals are popular and used world wide to measure personal and team performace. Performance management has increased with the gripping economy and having less to do more. Managers have always thought of optimal performance, yet a poorly written performce appraisal has a devistating impact on the employee, the manager, and the company. Today we will discuss the negative affects of a poorly written appraisal and the positive affects of an effective written appraisal. We will cover the steps to take, the information to include, and the expected end results of the appraisal. Covering the core competencies is critical, they include: Inclusiveness, Stewardship, Problem solving and Decision Making, Strategic Planning and Organizing, Communication, Quality Improvement, Leadership, Service Focus, and Teamwork. So, are apprasials needed? Absolutly…the appraisal system identifies and ensures we retain the best employees. It gives an outlook of who can best do what, and where best to utilize them. It ensures they reach their highest potential within the company. It allows managers to provide coaching and feedback to the employees so they can improve performace levels in identified areas. Affective appraisals inhibit...

...Academy of Management Review 2007, Vol. 32, No. 4, 1041–1059. GROUP LEARNING JEANNE M. WILSON The College of William & Mary PAUL S. GOODMAN Carnegie Mellon University MATTHEW A. CRONIN George Mason University We clarify the construct of group learning, encouraging new directions for research. Definitions of group learning vary considerably across studies, making it difficult to systematically accumulate evidence. To reconcile disparate approaches, we first present a set of features for distinguishing group learning from other concepts. We then develop a framework for understanding group learning that focuses on learning’s basic processes at the group level of analysis: sharing, storage, and retrieval. By doing so, we define the construct space, identify gaps in current treatments of group learning, and illuminate new possibilities for measurement. • In an eight-person product development team, one member from Engineering learns a new method for three-dimensional graphing and starts using it in her rough product designs. As a result, the team’s development costs decrease. • Based on its experience with the Love Me cybervirus, a national internet security team agrees that, in the future, the team should wait to send out alerts until it has a tested fix to recommend. Seven weeks later, when the Me Too bug strikes, the team delays sending out an alert for an extra four hours while it develops a patch. This response is roundly criticized in the internet security community. ...
