For those who do have it…Why are you here, seriously…for those that don’t well you are about to find out why, but before we ask “Why we don’t have wealth” I must first answer “What is wealth?” According to dictionary.com wealth is defined as anything that has monetary or exchange value however this definition is insufficient and here is why, let’s say you buy a brand new car for $20,000 at the end of year five the value of that car drops by 60% that means when you go to sell that car you only get $8,000 back so that’s a loss of $12,000 plus the amount you spent on maintenance over a course of five years that would be an extra $1500 now let’s say you spend $20.00 a week on gas over the course of those 5 years you’re looking at another loss of $1,080 so you add the cost of all your losses and you are looking at a total loss of $14,580 so the amount you made back ($5,420) is no way near the amount you spent. This is why I say that the dictionary .com version of wealth is insufficient, while it is true that your car has monetary value the amount you made is less than the amount spent, therefore no profit was made.
