When I first came to the United States, I wanted to learn English. The teachers in elementary school were helping me with the language. One of the most helpful teacher was Mrs.Rodriguez. She was my ESL teacher and she helped me a lot in developing my English. She was helping me with my school works during school and even willing to stay after school and to help me. By helping me learn English, my teacher was showing kindness. Kindness can help kids learn better even in difficult situations. The characters Bridget Smalley from Sway and Marin from “Geraldo No Last Name” show kindness because they both were being nice to other characters who have had difficult experiences. Marin is a kindly person because she is willing to stay out late and helped out a stranger. According to the story, “Only Marin can’t explain why it mattered, the hours and hours, for somebody she didn’t even know” (Cisneros 1). The quote above supports the claim because it shows that Marin stopover for hours to helped a guy that she met at a dance. In addition, all what Marin know was the stranger named Geraldo. A quote that supports the claim is “But what difference does it make? He wasn’t anything to her. He wasn’t her boyfriend or anything like that…. And what was she doing out at 3:00 A.M. anyway?” (Cisneros 1). The evidence above explained that Marin wasn’t disclose to the guy that she was helping but she was still staying out late to help him. Marin action showed that she’s a nice person because she was helping someone that wasn’t relate to her. Through Marin actions from the texts, the reader can assumed that Marin kind because she was supporting a guy that she didn’t know
