...Abstract #1 Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is continuing to pursue his acting career and is starring in, as well as producing the new film “Freelancers”, which was written by L. Philippe Casseus. Jackson will be playing the son of a deceiving NYPD officer who becomes affiliated with the corrupted force that his father helped build. “Freelancers” begins filming on March 28 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jackson has also been acknowledged for his prior films “Righteous Kill” and “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” In my opinion, “Freelancers” will just be another poor written script and will probably serve as another embarrassment for 50 Cent. “Freelancers” sounds like another one of 50 cents’ stereotypical films that contains an extraordinary amount of violence, along with an excess of unnecessary profanity. For example, 50 Cent’s previous movie “Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is an autobiographical film of his own life. The film portrays 50 Cent’s disturbing life that consists of drugs, sex, violence, robbery, and most importantly, rap music. I believe that since 50 Cent wants to be represented as a convict, he should have no business in trying to continue his success as an actor or producer. If 50 Cent was such a great actor and producer, I’m sure he would of had many films out by now, but it seems to me that he is just in need of something that can boost his declining career. Additionally, 50 Cent should be ashamed of his lyrics in his rap songs. Therefore, why would anyone want to hire 50 cent...

...Unit 2 Assignment 2 Task 1 Physical Resources Stock: Tesco need to have stock in order to sell items for a profit, without having any stock it can majorly affect the popularity and the image of the business. The popularity will decrease because Tesco will produce less to sell which will drive customers away to different companies who are capable of giving them what they want. Equipment: Tesco have many resources that are vitally important to the financial development of the company. By having the right resources it allows Tesco to compete with the best in their industry as the equipment used are widely regarded as the industry’s finest. Land and Buildings: With lands and buildings, Tesco are able to keep all stock in a certain location this provides security and safety. Rather than giving to other people who couldn’t care less about the security of the products up for sale. Secondly by having attractive buildings to sale products, it brings in more people as it’s trendy. Customers are more likely to shop at “the biggest superstore in Britain” than the smallest in Britain. Plant and Machinery: By Tesco having plants and machinery it allows them to create their own products, for example a having a pasteurization machine they will be able to make their own milk, yoghurt and cheese. This can bring good income to the company as they can sell them for a cheaper price than leading brands that sell those items. This is a smart business idea because most customers prefer...

...food stamps," the artist explained on her website. "One of my first memories is my mom telling me, 'If you want something, just take it.'" When she was 4, Kesha moved to Nashville with her family, where her mother had landed a songwriting contract. Sometimes tagging along with her mother, Kesha spent a lot of time in recording studios during her early adolescence. Her mother encouraged her interest in singing, allowing Kesha to work on some of her song demos. Kesha also went to a music school, where she learned about songwriting. Deep in the heart of the country music scene, she was inspired by the likes of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Pursuing a Career in Music At 17, Kesha left high school to pursue a music career. She changed her name to Ke$ha and moved to Los Angeles to work with producer Dr. Luke, who had worked on hit singles for Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson among others. "I thought her voice was distinctive, and I fell in love with her personality," Dr. Luke explained to Entertainment Weekly. "She had the same sass and irreverence she has now." Ke$ha was determined to break into the business. According to one story, she paid off a gardener to get inside music legend Prince's house to leave one of her demos for him. She landed a few gigs as a back-up vocalist as well, performing on songs by Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. But her big break came from an uncredited and...

...The topic that I chose for my reaserch paper is the limitations that should be applied to the parizi. I chose this topic because I wanted to see how much the pree and media have acces to the celrites. I want to fight for the celberite cause I deserve they need more privercy. My topic is the limitations that should be applied to the paparazzi. I wanted to see how much the press and media have access to the celebrities. Celebrities are just people like us, and they need their privacy. Sometimes you’ll see some really personal in magazines that you will say to yourself “how do they know that?”. I chose this because i want to see the paparazzi can push a celebrity and how much they can learn from the scandals and the relationship problems. I limited my research to just what the paparazzi should be limited on and why. I’ll get most of my research from interviews, magazines, and some websites. I’ll try to interview some people from the press and ask them questions like “ how much of these peoples lives do you know about “and “ do you think there should be some limits on how much you can know about these people”. I’ll see if i can get some interviews of people who have already interviewed drama filled celebrities like Brittany Spears and "the always in the fighting mood" Chris Brown. I want to find out how far the paparazzi is limited, if any at all, and see why they should be limited. ...

...A Streetcar Named Desire Throughout the play, light, plays a big role in describing Blanche’s emotions. Light represents many different things for Blanche: the light of her past, not wanting to be seen in the light, the light of her and Allan’s love. As lights dim and brighten throughout the play so do her emotions. She goes from being the most beautiful person who loves to be seen, to never wanting to be seen in the light again. Her emotions take a dramatic turn also, going from happy to depressed and self-conscious. Blanche had a rough past that she tries to escape by leaving her home. She travels to go live with her sister and her brother in law. Throughout the play she does everything she can to try to not talk about and avoid her past. But everyday her past haunts her. The darkness of her past is trying to come through but she tries to stop the darkness from dimming her present already dim light. But during the play little hints come up, and people start to realize that something deeper happened in her past. “But I’ve got to be good- and keep my hands off of children. Pg. 99” This relates to Blanche’s past because she had slept with one of her students. Later in the play Blanche starts to go insane when she is talking to Stanley; she starts seeing shadows and reflections on the walls. Her past is starting to come up and the dim light is dimming more and more, because she fears she is in danger with her past coming to the surface. The entire time Blanche...

...Exercise 1.6 Scrooge McNugget wants to store information (names, addresses, descriptions of embarrassing moments, etc.) about the many ducks on his payroll. Not surprisingly, the volume of data compels him to buy a database system. To save money, he wants to buy one with the fewest possible features, and he plans to run it as a stand-alone application on his PC clone. Of course, Scrooge does not plan to share his list with anyone. Indicate which of the following DBMS features Scrooge should pay for; in each case also indicate why Scrooge should (or should not) pay for that feature in the system he buys. 1. A security facility. 2. Concurrency control. 3. Crash recovery. 4. A view mechanism. 5. A query language. Answer 1.6 Answer omitted Exercise 21.15 Consider a heterogeneous distributed DBMS. 1. Define the terms multidatabase system and gateway. 2. Describe how queries that span multiple sites are executed in a multidatabase system. Explain the role of the gateway with respect to catalog interfaces, query optimization, and query execution. 3. Describe how transactions that update data at multiple sites are executed in a multidatabase system. Explain the role of the gateway with respect to lock management, distributed deadlock detection, Two-Phase Commit, and recovery. 4. Schemas at different sites in a multidatabase system are probably designed independently. This situation can lead to semantic heterogeneity; that is, units of measure may differ across sites (e.g., inches versus...

...Essay on how a person´s name can affect one´s internal life The story of Gogol Ganguli, the main protagonist in the novel The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri, shows the importance of the names and it also speaks to every person, me included, who ever felt unhappy with his or her given name. In Bengali culture “individual names are sacred, inviolable. They are not meant to be inherited or shared” (Lahiri, 28). According to Bengali tradition two names are given to a person; a “pet” name which is usually used by family and friends and other “good” name which is official. Gogol is given a pet name at birth which becomes his official name. This essay will argue that Gogol Ganguli has an internal conflict with his name throughout his life until he is in his 30ties when he begins to embrace it at last. With regard to his internal conflict the first time we get a glimpse of his future turmoil is when Gogol starts kindergarten and he is told by his parents who finally decided on a good name, that he is to be called “Nikhil” by teachers and other children. Gogol rejects his new name because he is “afraid to be Nikhil, someone he doesn´t know. Who doesn´t know him” (Lahiri, 57). Thus he begins his school years as Gogol, a decision that comes to hunt him internally for many years. Consequently by the time Gogol reaches puberty he starts to feel ashamed of his unusual name. He is used to be the only Indian in a group of his peers however he feels that his name causes him to stand out in...

...associated with identity, and names are crucial to identity.” ------------------------------------------------- A sense of belonging is made up of various elements, a secure identity being of them. Lahiri questions where is one’s identity found? Is it in their name, their heritage and culture or in their past or present? The Namesake represents identity as one fluid concept and a sense of belonging is closely associated with identity because it is the meaning of the names that can shape the individual’s identity and the clash of cultures can influence the how the individual searches for identity within their name. When Ashima and Ashoke first move to America as immigrants, it is nothing but a learning curve for them as they try and settle into a foreign country where they are faced with cultural differences; and Gogol being the first born is faced with the difficulty of living almost like a test subject as his parents try to master juggling their Bengali heritage and American culture. “They’ve learned their lesson after Gogol…for their daughter, a good name and pet name are one and the same.” This affects Gogol’s sense of belonging and identity as the lesson Ashima and Ashoke have learned prepared them for the challenges of raising their second child, who finds more success in navigating America as a Bengali leading to her finding a secure identity; while Gogol is left with the initial confusions his parents experienced, causing him to feel lost about his sense of self and identity...

As defined by dictionary.com, excessive pride is, “a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.” John Proctor exemplifies his tragic flaw many times throughout the play; such as through the actions he makes, in which eventually lead to his demise. One of the most prominent points where John Proctor exhibits his excessive pride, or fatal flaw, is when he denies to sign his name under his “confession” to witchcraft....
