Independent learning is the most effective methods of study. To what extent do you agree? It is generally accepted that there have been many immense learning methods impacting to success in the field of education. Nowadays, beside some traditional learning methods, typical as the lecture method, the one of the best learning options is independent learning which is becoming increasingly important for students. There is no doubt that studying independently, especially in higher education, can be a frustrating and sometimes confused experience. But while independent learning has its drawbacks, the disadvantages are far outweighed by the advantages.

Independent learning does not mean learning without a tutor or classmates. In generally, most students confuse when they are encouraged to studying independently. This is a misunderstanding. In fact, independent learning, which is also called “self-learning”, means learning motivate with or without the help of others in study. The independent student s do not have to know everything by themselves or they are also not expected to be a talent who do not need any support from others. On the contrary, independent learners who are capable of working individually or in a group becoming a problem- solver.

Independent learning has many obvious benefits. This method gives the student lots of variety opportunities to become adjusted their targets and needs in study. They are able to cope with a lot of different situations. It makes the student have responsibility for their own study. Dressed and Thompson (1973) states that: “ The most important aspect of the whole process is that student become
