The purpose of my study is to explore how ineffective Behavior Management Techniques perpetuate failure in children with Intellectual Disabilities. While I have read several articles I have not found any that directly speak to my purpose statement. While conducting my research it has been discovered that there are articles that speak directly to the teacher's insufficient methods for managing the classroom. Managing the classroom includes how teachers speak with students, relationships with parents and intervening before behaviors get out of control. This information goes to one side of the story, my research question would be remised without discussing this; however, what I am seeking is the disparity between what is conducted in the classroom verse what happens in the home. This articles were all found on eric.ed.gov.

Conjoint Behaviors Consultation and Parent Participation: The role of Parent- Teacher Relationships used a Quantitative Research approach. This journal was published by Nebraska Center for Research and discusses parent-teacher relationships. The study used two groups; one where teachers were used to problem solve and the other group did not. The study showed that having parental involvement increased the use of techniques that were better suited to reduce the amount of misbehaviors in the classroom.
The second article is a Case study that was listed as a peer review. Children Problem Behavior and Techniques to Classroom Management: A Case Study of Preschool classroom in Klang Valley. This journal explores why children misbehave in school and some of the Behavior Management techniques that could be used to solve different issues that arose during class. The study also states that many of the children did not understand the teacher and acted out due to peer pressure or because of home life. The case study uses a Qualitative Research
