There are many different departments in a business. I will discuss the human resources department and the sales and marketing department. The human resources department deals with all the recruitment, training, the health and safety, and pay negotiations with unions/workers. Before you use an information system in this department you have to decide on what you need the system to do for you. This is considered the most important step of the Human Resources Software Technology system selection process. The more detailed you are in this step the more likely you will be to find the correct system for your needs. The main purpose of the information system in HR is so companies can manage their benefit plans and their employee information.
Next I will be discussing the marketing department. The marketing function carries out marketing research and also organizes advertising and product promotion. Information systems play a role in this department as well. This department has to act as a guide and lead the company’s other departments in developing, producing, fulfilling, and servicing products or services for their customers, with some input from other workers within the company on doing so. They rely on various technologies within the scope of marketing efforts. Computer based information systems can be employed. They aid in better processing and storage of data. The researchers can use this system to devise better methods of converting data into information, and also for a creation of enhanced data gathering methods. It also aids in enhancing an MKIS software and hardware components. This will improve the company’s marketing and decision making
