...must rely on what you know. Extemporaneous is a speech that involves preparation and practice. This form of delivery has many advantages. Specifically, speakers can maintain a personal connection with their listeners and respond to their feedback. Manuscript is a speech where everything is written out. The speaker reads the manuscript word for word. Memorized is a speech that has been committed to memory. This method may be useful when you know you will be receiving an award or recognition so you make sure you thank the right people. An informative speech is one that informs the audience. This week our assignment was to do an informative presentation. I know when doing an informative presentation I must inform my audience strictly with facts. I decided to do the presentation about my company and services we provide because I wanted to inform my audience about social services we provide. In my presentation I will discuss different programs we offer and the guideline requirement to qualify for each program. My only purpose for this presentation is to provide factual information to my audience. However, this general definition demonstrates that there are many ways to inform an audience. Therefore, there are several types of informative speeches. The main types of...

The assessment of content quality (CQ) in social media adds a layer of complexity over traditional information quality assessment frameworks. Challenges arise in accurately evaluating the quality of content that has been created by users from different backgrounds, for different domains and consumed by users with different requirements. This paper presents a comprehensive review of 19 existing CQ assessment related frameworks for social media in addition to proposing directions for framework improvements. Keywords: content quality assessment, social media, discussion forums, wikis, weblogs. 1 Introduction Information quality (IQ) has been widely defined in literature by its fitness for use. Existing research in the field of assessing IQ within traditional information systems is relatively mature and has led to the discovery and validation of numerous quality dimensions and metrics [2, 15, 17, 29, 35]. Knight & Burn (2005) have presented a comprehensive review of literature in the realm of assessing IQ frameworks. Common IQ dimensions that were identified from their review are presented in Table 1. The definitions of these dimensions have been included from Wang & Strong (1996)...

For all lab reports and projects this year he has demonstrated the same exemplar work and written to explain with good description and detail. I encourage him to keep up these strong efforts next year in grade 8 and to keep striving to do his best. Bany has stayed consistent with the level of her work this year and I would like to see her take more steps toward improvement. For her lab reports and projects she consistently included the necessary criteria but often did not go beyond the level of stating information...

...with the help of the Training Assistant. First, a Needs Analysis will be performed to determine the training objectives and ensure support from the training team. This process should only take approximately 1 day to complete. Once the Needs Analysis is complete the team will begin the process of planning the actual training seminar. The next stage of the project will involve identifying the attendees and the trainer for the seminar. While indentifying the attendees can be accomplished by the Training Assistant, the Training Manager will take steps to identify the proper training vendor for the seminar. Special care should be taken to insure that the proper training vendor is selected. Once selected, the Training Manager and the vendor will complete the process by signing the appropriate confidentiality and training agreement. Once the attendees have been identified, and the vendor selected, the next step in the project will be to select a facility and arrange for the attendees and trainers transportation to that facility. In this instance, a hotel with ample meeting facilities should suffice. This would provide hotel accommodations and meeting space within the same location eliminating the needs to provide transportation to and from the training facility. Lastly, the seminar will be conducted in a two day time period, after which feedback will be collected from the attendees. The attendees should not only provide feedback on the quality and usefulness of the seminar, but also...

...dictionary, Advertising is a form, either written or orally, that attempts to sell something whether it is a product or particular view. Advertising takes in the form of pamphlets, radio, television, internet and much more. A common misunderstanding is that advertising differs from marketing, a business practice unto itself. There is a wide variety of ways in which an advertisement may reach the public, but not all are suitable for every advertisement. Advertising is used to make the consumers aware of the goods and services that producers and trader share to offer. There are many media through which advertising may take place. Each of which has a varying degree of effectiveness and costs. There are three main groups of advertising: Informative advertising Persuasive advertising Sponsorship advertising The aims of this study is to increase the usage of a certain product, attract more customers and to indicate the introduction of new products or replacement of the old products. ...LaNesha Cameron October 24, 2013 INFT 101 “We have two ears and one Mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.” (Epictetus, 2009)There are a multitude of different learning styles. Auditory learning focuses on many aspects and learning strategies. These strategies include learning by listening to other, listening to feedback, the adoration to ask questions and listen for explanations, and the ability to discuss text when mastering difficult information. Through the Learning Styles Assessment I was surprised to discover that I am an auditory learner. I would have thought myself to be a visual learner. Although listening plays a big part in my ability to learn and comprehend information I also think that it is important to have a visual image, whether it is physical or imaginative. As listening and having a visual image are important so are the strategies that are suggested for this learning style. Learning by listening to others via speech, lecture, and informative recordings have been proven to be successful strategies. This is by far my favorite along with listening to feedback. Feedback is the modification of a person’s performance used as a foundation for improvement. This technique is often in the form of an interview, one on one conferences, and oral surveys. Another one of my favorite strategies is the Q&A method. It has all to do with asking questions and listening to explanations. This method can be found in mentoring...

...HOW TO MAKE CONCEPT PAPER A concept paper is about the in-depth analysis regarding an intangible thought, theory, or idea. Concept examples include fear, authorship, unemployment, education, etc. The goal of writing a concept paper is to explain a particular idea to the audience objectively. If your audience doesn’t have the knowledge about the issue, your job should be to inform them. If your audience has some knowledge, your job is to add new things into the discussion. Usually, a concept paper discusses a controversial topic which could be interpreted in various ways. Below are the steps for writing a concept paper. * Pick your concept. If your instructor did not assign a particular concept, you have the freedom of deciding the topic. You should choose a subject that is related to the course your concept paper is for. Your concept should illuminate the topics which have been discussed in your class. It also always helps if you choose a subject that you are familiar with or interested in researching on. * Research your concept. You should spend no less time to research about your topic than actually writing your paper. While doing the research, you should gather informative and objective information. The materials you research should be a mix of scholar journals, books, professional websites and interviews. * Refine the topic. When you pinpoint the concept, it helps for limiting the possibilities of your research, otherwise the research might feel overwhelming...

...Family Working in Yard By: Xiao Tan Case analysis of " Stihl Incorporated: Go-to-Market strategy for next-generation Consumers" The successes of Stihl Incorporated's distribution network was based upon it's great supports to their independent retail dealers, to help them service the end customers with a great selling performance. But, when the Generation Y ( Echo Boomers: 1985-2003) gradually become the major house owners (which is the target consumers of outdoor power equipment industry) of United States, their unique buying habits will increasingly affect Stihl's marketing performance. After couple decades, Stihl's two-step retail distribution channels and present products' designs will no longer be profitable. For keeping and improving Stihl's brand equity, I strongly suggest: First of all, create a informative, highly functional Web sites, personalize notification and a mechanism for capturing and responding to customer feedback; Second and the huge move, create a new brand not only sell tools but also providing excellent home improvement experience to house owners and their families; Third, introducing new products that add style, technology and color to the mix in home improvement centers and mass merchants, for commercial buyers, using the web-site only. New brand, New products & New channels There are some unique characteristics of the new generation, such as: "want challenges" and " give me info, but I call shots". Also, "The present research takes an...

We often fail to consider the importance of word choice until it is too late, and our communication has failed. Think of a time when the words you selected contributed to your miscommunication with another person. How did your word choice impact the miscommunication? What could you have done differently? ...VARK Analysis Rhonda Chrestman Grand Canyon University Family Centered Health Promotion NRS-429V-0191 Barbara Trabelsi November 17, 2013 VARK Analysis VARK is an instructional preference model of a learning styles inventory that differentiates students by the way in which they best acquire information (Marcy, 2001, para. 3). Neil D. Fleming developed the VARK questionnaire in1987 to help students become better learners and to improve the way teachers teach and develop their courses. VARK is about modality preference or the preferences that we each have for taking in and expressing learning (Fleming, n.d., para. 5). VARK is an acronym for visual, aural, read/write, and kinesthetic preference modalities. It is made up of a questionnaire that determines a person’s sensory modality preferences (Marcy, 2001, para. 4). A student may have a preference for one modality or be multimodal. A learner’s preferences do not necessarily equal what they consider to be their strengths (Marcy, 2001, para. 4). The VARK questionnaire was easy to take, informative and gave strategies to improve study habits and increase learning. After taking the questionnaire the results were calculated and came out as follows: aural-ten; kinesthetic-four; read/write-three; visual-one. Aural (or hearing) was the learning preference that was preferred. After reading about the various preferences and their study strategies the results were determined to be accurate. Aural learners should take in...
