Injustice In Tawana's Cases

From my view point, Tawana was a young innocent girl that endured agony from the beginning of her abduction to the jokers she called defendants on her case. When an individual forcibly performs sexual acts on others individual without consent, that is considered rape. November 28th, Tawana was abducted shortly after getting off the school bus and dragged into the woods. The young girl was raped repeatedly over the course of four long days. When Tawana was found, she was discovered smeared with stool and unconscious. What could she have done to deserve such an inhumanly crime. In my opinion, no one took her case seriously around this time may officials were being protected by the law for several crimes done to harm society, including African Americans. In the event to protect Tawana and help her receive justice, the three men that took on her case did just the opposite. Rev. Al Sharpton, FBI informant Alton Maddox Jr., and C. Vernon Mason a Civil Rights Attorney’ triggered Tawana’s case to a laughing joke and according to Peoples Magazine, “An almost secondary issue” (Kunen,1988). This Article amazes me, Three African Americans closely connected to NCAAP, took on a case dealing with the rape of a young African American girl. Instead of fighting this case to gain a sense of freedom and relief for Tawana, they turned this case over having nothing to do with the victim or her situation. As further time went by, many people began to question her story. Later, it was said that she led herself to get raped, constantly running away from home, and involving herself into trouble around her drug infested neighborhood. In the end, justice was never fought for Tawana no matter the situation or leading events. She was still a 15-year-old girl that got viciously raped over the course of four
